Refs were fair both ways, but garbage overall. Let the teams play, man. The perimeter ticky tack fouls were bullshit. They completely took out Ray Allen, and at least 2 of his fouls were pure garbage.

Great game tonight by us, Bynum and Artest, both missing in 2008, looked great. Hopefully they keep it up. I wish Bynum was in there in the 2nd half over Odom. Odom didn't start clicking until the game started to wind down.

    Kobe, baby!

Keep it up. I think game 2 is going to be the most crucial game of this series. I expected a win tonight, but game 2 scares me. We can't get complacent. Boston is in prime position to come in here and steal game 2 from us. If we take game 2, I don't see any way Boston can win this.

And fuck Chris Rock. He was annoying as fuck tonight.

Major factor why we won, KG was garbage and rondo was contained.

Artest is so down to earth. He is not excited about his 1st NBA Finals' game, he says his defense was just average and wants to play much better defense, and still reppin' Queensbridge!

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers (Lakers lead 1-0)

Yeah the officiating tonight was pretty bad, whistles were going off everywhere. Let them play dammit!!!

But glad we got the win tonight. Kobe was great as usual. Pau showed that he's grown since the 2008 debacle, he is Pau Gasoft no more. Also, from Radmanovic/Walton to Ron Artest, what an upgrade. There is no question that signing Ron Ron in the offseason was the right move, he was huge once again tonight, in his first Finals appearance.

Gotta give props to Andrew Bynum as well, he played hard today and looked great when he was on the floor. Hopefully he can give us this type of energy and defense for the rest of the series.

That being said, great game, but it's only game 1. We still have 3 more games to win, hopefully we'll come out in game 2 with the same amount of energy and effort.

PS: Was anyone angry and confused when Phil decided to sit Kobe near the start of the 4th in the middle of Boston's mini run? Obviously it didn't end up hurting us but I thought it was a very questionable move at the time. I thought I was going to see the lead evaporate, thankfully it didn't.

The LAKERS looked great today. The entire team is peaking at the right time! I refuse to celebrate until all four games are won. This Boston team is very dangerous on the road and at home.

I'm glad the Celts didn't make a run at the end. I don't want them to have any naive confidence. They need to step their game up if they want a chance in this series.

Great job by LA to take game 1, C's didn't fucking show up, when Gasol has same amount of rebounds as KG, Perk, Big Baby and Sheed combined, something went wrong. lol

Game 2 will be must win for Boston I think, if they go down 0-2, it's pretty much over.

I think Bynum makes or breaks the Lakers in this series. If he can play 30 minutes like he did last night, series over.

I agree Gasol outplayed the Celtics front line last night. The key for him was staying out of foul trouble and being aggressive on offense.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers (Lakers lead 1-0)

I don't think a lot of Lakers' fans realize how valuable that 30 minutes was last night. In that 30 minutes, is presence was known in that paint. There were plenty of chances for LA to go to him for offense, too, but they didn't. That is another ace in the hole Phil has right now. We'll see how the knee responds, though. But as long as he can be in there and be a defensive anchor and not let Rondo get to that without a challenge, things become that much easier for us.

I'd like to see if Perkins or Big Baby can step up to that challenge for you guys.

Give me Kobe as player of the game. As long as he is getting to the hoop and knocking down the perimeter shot, things open up for Pau, Artest, Odom, and Bynum much much more. If Kobe continues this rampage, things open up for Pau to be that damn good. He's the #2 option for a reason, his success and effectiveness hinges on Kobe. Add this with the task of locking down Rondo, Kobe is well on his way to another Finals' MVP if we close this out.

Artest did a great job on Pierce. Most of Pierce's points came when Artest was out of the game. Hopefully he can keep that up.

Shannon and Jordan came in and played big for us. Hopefully they can do that on the road, when we'll need them. Fisher > both of them this post season, though. Fisher just has that ability to step up big in the post season.

KG struggled last night, but I don't expect that to continue. The guy is a 1st ballot HOF'er for a reason. He'll adjust and get his shit straight.

Thrilla, did you have a problem with that 3 Kobe hit with about 3 seconds left in the game?

haha, I had already turned it off. Who cares, though? Maybe it will help motivate the Celtics because apparently they need more motivation than the fact that its the fucking finals.

Time for Game 2 bitches. I want Odom to step up, he only had 5 points last game, I want at least 10+ from him. I also want some good minutes from Sasha as well.

Put your seat belts on, it's gonna be a crazy ride. I expect a close game throughout, going back and fourth till the end.

Let's come out it with a win.

We can't lose tonight. I don't want to go into 3 games at Boston with the series tied 1-1.
