Here is why: 1. The Spurs defense doesn't compare to that of the Pistons. 2. The Spurs won the first two at HOME and showed they couldn't beat the Lakers at Staples. 3. The only adjustment Phil had to make was guarding the pick and roll against the Spurs, not the case with the Pistons. 4. Payton absolutely sucks and is unhappy. He needs to be benched. 5. Pistons have a guy that can match up with Shaq, actually 2 guys. 6. Etc...etc....etc
This series isnt over but the Lakers havent even really beat the Pistons yet they got a miracle in game 2,in the first 2 games they were literally neck and neck but the Pistons would pull away in the fourth they did that in the the second game but KObe came up clutch.Game 3 they just strait up killed the Lakers,I knew that they could hold Kobe under 20 points but I didnt think they can hold him under 15, and I am not even goin say anything about Shaq
This series is interesting cause it seems to be the first time ever when Lakers were actually down 3 games deep... they seem like the weaker link, but it's all the fun, we'll see what goes down in Game 4, all this talk regrading statistics, percentage and all just gettin real annoying now.

When someone starts a thread on how the Pistons are finished and we should stick a fork in them after a miricle shot that won the game for the Lakers.
Thats *EDIT*, we got outshot by 17 on free-throws, half the time the lakers had the ball tehy got fouled. we even had more assists. what the hell, malone sucks payton sucks, he should shutup about taking a paycut that guy is lucky hes still allowed to play for 1.4 mil or whatever the hell it is. and its not like the other players on the roster did nothing, its just shaq and kobe didn't do what they were supposed to do, most of the guys that played scored over their average. shaq and kobe need a *EDIT* uptime or something Cursing is not tollerated here.
and all you bs pistons fans, shut the hell up you dont know what the hell you are talking about, ur not even a piston fan if you think about, ur just a laker hater, that doesn't mean u like the other team retards

i think lakers fan such as myself are beggining to worry aboout how the lakers are playing. to tell you the truth in game 3... they looked like crap!

You probably just jumped on the bandwagon like many others. Don't come to this site and insult Pistons fans just because you are frustrated with the way your team is playing. Be intelligent about it. If you can't discuss basketball in a mature manner than you might as well leave now because you won't be around for long.

The Lakers have yet to make the proper adjustments to the Pistons. Their unfamiliarity with this team is causing them problems and Larry Brown is schooling Phil Jackson in the coaching department. The Pistons are executing their game plan, and the Lakers are not. I'm confident in the Lakers ability to come together and figure out a way to defeat the Pistons. During the end of last game the Lakers started playing more aggressive and it rattled the Pistons. They need to learn from that and expand on it. The Lakers need to play physical early and set the tone, no more double digit offensive rebounds, and no more uncontested layups. Shaq needs to play with anger and start clearing out the paint.
The Pistons really had a great game, and i didn't think the Defense the Pistons have were going to hold the Lakers back that much, but gotta give the Pistons props, for showing the world that there a force to be reckoned with

I want the Pistons to win, but didn't want to see a great team embarrassed like that. 68 points for the Lakers in the Finals, who would've believed that if I would have said it prior to the series? The fact of the matter is that the Lakers had an opportunity to cut into the lead, but didn't communicate on De and THEN gave up timely O rebs. The Pistons laid the smacketh down in a major way. One big benefit is the fact that the Pistons don't have to double Shaq (FEAR THE FRO'). I posted that, even though the Pistons lost game 2, they had all the confidence in the world against these Lakers and the loss wouldn't have any hold-over effects. Rip seems to be constantly open in passing lanes Got the Sheed who works everyone they put in front of him And the Shaq-progress-stopper Big Benny Wallace :weightroo
I don't hate the Lakers, more like dislike. I'm a pistons fan, I liked them since the Bad Boy Era. Kobe's one of my favorite players, I just don't like Shaq, Phil, Devean George, Bryon Rusell, Payton, and Fox. For me, I have to like the team players to be a fan, not just because they're winning like the Lakers.

In the beggining of the series I predicted Lakers in 6. Well this is starting to look like a 7 game series so far. Lakers will not lay down and continue to be bihatch slapped by the Pistons in the remaining games. The Lake Show shall prevail, like they always do.
I was hearing alot about the Lakers not showing any effort. I seen this game and the Lakers got alot of steals at the end but couldn't convert on the other end. Kobe was most definitely giving it his all. Big ups to Big Ben. He kept swiping at Shaq attempts and just totally got him outta sync. As well as Tay doing a great job on Kobe. But it's like what Shapecity said. They just gotta make the proper adjustments. The Lakers should be fine, I hope.
I'm still one confident Laker fan after this Game 3 loss, and with the experience this team has faced in it's hard times, the Lakers will make this a series. I look around and read all the trashtalking that the Piston fans are saying about our team, and what I have to say to them is don't count your chickens before they hatch. It's only a 2-1 series lead, and if Shaq and Kobe come out tomorrow and play their A game, it'll be tied up once again and it guarantees the series returns to Los Angeles. One problem Phil has to fix however is Gary Payton. He must be benched. He's been inconsistent throughout this entire series. His offense is nowhere to be seen, he passes up open jumpshots, his defense is erratic and horrific, and he simply gets beat by the quicker guards in this league. This is the NBA Finals. Your last chance of a lifetime to get a ring, and you'd think that he'd leave everything on the basketball court?? Boy, were we wrong?? Derek Fisher needs to retake that starting point guard spot. At least he plays with determination and heart. Secondly, Phil must use Byron Russell. Along with Malone, he has NBA Finals experience, and he has a perimeter jumpshot. How can he showcase the little talent he has left in the tank if he's sitting on the bench??? And lastly, Slava must be ready to play most of Malone's minutes. Karl did exceptionally well in the first half of Game 3. Using his usual tactics to harass Rasheed Wallace, but didn't play at all in the second half. There's no point having a 50% Malone playing than someone at 100%. He must be willing to take his game to a different level. I remember my dad mentioned about the Detroit Pistons sooner or later experiencing their offensive droughts. And I couldn't agree with him more. The Lakers have experienced their offensive troubles from the field for most of this series, and I really believe the tides will turn and it'll be time for the Pistons to experience their woes as well. Should be a great game tomorrow, but I remain confident from the beginning of this series, and I remain true to my prediction that the Los Angeles Lakers will win this series in 6.
It's very hard to be confident about the Lakers at this point after the shellacking they got in game 3 but I digress. The Lakers need to wake up or they will have to make the unlikely comeback down 3-1 in a tough series. I have confidence in the Lakers but they have to change up their game plan, pass Shaq the damn ball, get Kobe in the lane, light a fire under Gary Paytons ass or else this series is a rap.
^ Heck, I'm sure we were saying this team was done after two games at San Antonio, but what happened? This team took a script from Hollywood and won the next four games from the then defending champions. I really believe with the experience this team has from that San Antonio series, and that demoralizing effort against Detroit two nights ago, that they'll come together as a team and win tomorrow night. Remember, we are in the NBA Finals. This isn't the regular season, or the first round of the playoffs. The jewelry and the golden trophy is around the corner. If Lakers take Game 4, it's a three game series and it guarantees at least one home game back in Los Angeles. Believe man.
