Well it probably means Shape and Trench are 30+ years old, true fans since they were little like 10. No worries a fan is a fan.

Lakers seemed much more like a championship caliber team in their demeanor of receiving their conference champinoship trophy than the Celtics did.

Such an emotional night for the Celtics. I'm happy for them.

But unfortunately. Every good thing, has to come to an end.

For everyone thats cussing in this thread (you know who you are), do you really have to do that to make a point?

    Celtics in 6 or 7. (betting it'll be 6)

Good luck to the Lakers, and the best player on the planet, Kobe.

Who is going to guard Perkins, dude will abuse Lamar with his physical game, just look at what he did to Bynum.

I don't know what the matchups will be, but I don't think Lamar will be matching up with Perkins. It'll probably be Gasol. I know Gasol has been called out for being too "soft," but I think he should do a pretty decent job against Perkins. If you look boxscore wise, Gasol actually didn't do such a bad job against Duncan. I'm more worried about Lamar and Garnett

Anyways, the series will be 2-3-2. Hopefully we will be able to steal one game from the Celtics before we go home for three games. This will be a very tough series. I know for a fact Kobe will give everything he has in the next series, and I'm hoping everyone else will as well. Just for more wins guys, that's it. May the best team win.

I'll say Lakers in five after we split the first two games.

I can't even front............I was cheering for the celtics last night, because I want to see "this" matchup

    you have
a.) all the history of the lakers and celtics
b.) ray allen vs. kobe (remember they hate each other)
c.) pierce growing up in L.A. and cheering for the lakers against boston.......now he plays for boston
d.) phil going for ring #10 against auerbach's celtics (who didn't want phil to get ring 10 when he was living...red would roll over in his grave if the celtics lose this series)
e.) the two top teams in each conference
f.) the mvp vs. the big two featuring ray allen

I haven't been this excited for a finals in a long ass time!!!!!

I couldn't believe my eyes or ears seeing Paul Pierce lead the "Beat L.A." chants in the Celtics post game celebration.

I'm looking forward to this series as well.

I've also been trying to figure out who the Lakers will use on Kendrick Perkins. I think Gasol will be fine against him after defending against Boozer and Duncan effectively. Lakers have done a much better job on help defense and rotations the further they've gotten in the post season.

The matchup I'm concerned about is Radman defending Pierce. If you watch the Celtics, Paul Pierce is the guy who gets his team going by penetrating into the paint and making plays. He's the catalyst for their offense and he'll have plenty of confidence when he sees Radman on him. I think we'll see the Machine get early minutes in this series once Radman picks up two quick fouls.

you really think so because people over at LG and CL keep on saying the same and Phil never uses him.
    </div>

I'm also fascinated with Ariza and want to see him get some burn in the playoffs during critical moments, but it's hard to second guess PJax at this point. If you look at the body of work the Lakers put together in the post season we've been dominant. We've only lost 3 games in the playoffs in what was regarded as one of the toughest Conference in the history of the NBA. Hell, Boston lost 3 games in the first round to the Hawks.

There's no reason to disrupt anything at this point. I don't think Ariza will get any real minutes unless a rotation player gets injured.

    _______ Blood: choose a side!

This should be an awesome series. I don't particularly like either team but I'll root for the Celtics, because a Boston win makes the Eastern Conference look better and because the Lakers are annoying.

jesus shuttlesworth vs. black mamba revisted

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"He feels like he needs to show the league ... that he is better without Shaq, that he can win without Shaq," Allen said. "That he can still average 30 points and he can still carry the load on this team. The point production is not so much what people will look at, because (Tracy) McGrady did it in Orlando and Allen (Iverson) did it in Philly. But can you win championships? Can he make everybody better?

"He has the talent. But is his attitude going to sometimes allow him to take the backseat and let Lamar Odom shine and let Caron Butler have his nights and bring those big guys along? If Kobe doesn't see he needs 2-1/2 good players to be a legitimate playoff contender or win a championship in about a year or two he will be calling out to (Lakers owner) Jerry Buss that we need some help in here, or trade me. We'll all be saying we told you so when he says that."

When asked about Allen's comments before their second exhibition on Oct. 25, Bryant said: "Don't even put me and dude in the same breath."

The second preseason showdown, a 117-91 Lakers win, never materialized because Allen sat out with a stiff lower back. Still, Bryant added fuel to the fire when he was overheard during the game telling Allen: "I'll see you again."</div>

    hahaha.....
