The only reason I can't totally blast KG, is that he'll always be a force on the boards and defensively. The dude needs to get his shit together on offense, but he steps up on the other side of the court.

    Thrilla's avatar is hilarious.

Gasol has exposed KG as being a mediocre offensive player. Even KG admitted last night that Gasol's defense has been bothering him, because of how long he is. Gasol has turned KG into a jump shooter, something that KG had a reputation as being a very good jump shooter...I don't think so. He's an average jump shooter.

Gasol has been damn good recently on defense. His offense was mostly non-existent, though I give him credit for making KG non-existent in the process.

KG is mediocre offensively? That's a bit of an overstatement, don't you think? That's like me saying, "Well...I guess Kobe is ok."

Well he's certainly been mediocre thus far. That's really all that matters.

Not really. His jumper is only decent and he forgets to go to the post sometimes. And Kobe's offensive game is on a whole nother level compared to KG's. He's got one of the best jumpers in the league from mid range or long range and can get to the hoop with the best of em. KG should be able to dominate softy Gasol and softy Odom, but he's not.

No, he's been exposed. If you take him out of the post, he's mediocre. I've always felt KG was the most overrated superstar in the league, and Gasol is proving that. When he can't get the position to shoot his little turnaround J in the paint, his offensive game is VERY limited. That's where Duncan has him beat and pulls away from him as the best PF in the league.

To be fair, the Lakers are throwing the threat of a double team on every possession (they aren't respecting Rondo's jumpshot). Mark Jackson did a good job of pointing that out.

Fair enough, I didn't think about that. I am just surprised that he hasn't really shown up to play. Out of their big three, I thought Garnett was going to be our biggest worry.

I've pretty much given up on Odom having an impact, but Gasol I still have some hope for.

Gasol was respectable on the boards too.

Amazing to see that some of you are more focused on the refs then you are on the players. This game was actually as good as it gets, officiating-wise. The Lakers were the more aggressive team and it showed by the free throw count.</div>

Agreed, that was and probably will be the best officiated game of the series.

You definitely need to give Turiaf credit, too. He played such good defense, he contested every shot right up in Garnett's face. He made him fadeaway multiple times into bricks, and stayed with him the whole time. I love the energy he brings when he's on the court.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Dream @ Jun 11 2008, 09:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Question who's softer KG, Pau, or Odom????..................Answer, I don't know............KG clearly had his best moments when he took it to the rack, and then he stopped. Gasol looks timid and afraid of the moment, and Odom in the words of the Zen Master looks "lost".................With that being said Kobe played great and Vujacic looks like a girl, pounds his chest like a girl, and has a girly name, but dude has a heart of stone...............and I must add that Doc Rivers made plenty of stupid ass decisions last night, right now I'm too lazy to list them all..................</div>
I think Gasol is the softest of the 3. Especially on offense. He has been playing hard on D, Odom and KG also have been playing pretty hard on D too. Although they all are soft. You can also replace soft the word soft with finess and it doesn't sound as bad lol. I think Odom kind of just gets passive and lets other Farmar, Kobe, Vujacic, Fisher do what they want and he sits back.

lol, Vujacic should join the WNBA and dominate [IMG].

All of you who are calling KG a softy, I want you to kick yourselves right now. It don't get much tougher than KG.

But in all honesty, I thought KG was gonna be our biggest problem, and Ray Allen was gonna be nonexistent. IDK why Phil isn't trying Sasha on RayRay cuz Sasha did a good job on Manu, and, IMO, Ray Allen isn't as good as Manu.

There's a huge difference between being tough and being soft. We're calling him soft because he's playing tentative and settling for jumpers instead of posting up. No one here is questioning his toughness.

KG has never been a good post up player. I'm not sure why people expect him to turn into one just because it's the finals.
