and again, the play-in is a joke.

it's fine if teams are bunched up together, but Clips had a 6 game lead on NO after 82 games and lost a single elimination game with their best player a last minute scratch.

need to amend that shit or risk completely minimizing the importance of the regular season.
Clippers weren’t single elimination. They had TWO chances to make playoffs and didn’t get it done. Seems fair to me.

we gave up CJ/Nance/Snell/Norm/Roco for Hart/Winslow/Johnson/Louzada/Ingles/2025 pick/and the 58th pick in this draft.

i hate it, but "fucking idiot" is a generous word for our GM right now.

And people want to give him the reins for our most consequential summer in franchise history.
Take your own advice and take a break.

i suggested earlier that they can trigger a play-in if teams 8/9 are less than 3 games apart, something sorta like what they did in the bubble.

but with such a large difference between 8/10, there was no need for this this year. we knew very clearly who the superior and more deserving team was.
But the Pels had a better record with CJ, right? Not to mention Nance.

You don't have to run it back or gamble. Those aren't your only two options.

Please share with us the trade that we could've made then that another team would've agreed to and our owner would've agreed to pay luxuary tax for.

I can say we could've got Giannis for CJ over and over, but that doesn't make it true.

If I was Cronin I would’ve said unprotected pick or absolutely no deal.

But everyone in the world knew that we were eager to trade CJ.

So we ended up with Josh Hart who’s a nice role player.

AAAAAND lets come back to Earth about Covid and stop letting it destroy our lives. I was even in the ICU due to lack of fluids from Covid, so they tell me and I STILL don't think we should have stopped the planet and cost millions their jobs, crippled the economy and also we will see millions in the 3rd world starve assuming any of those "Even one life!" matters. The fact that PG13 was vaccinated got it and then got scratched last minute is incomprehensible to me in a Billion dollar business.
smh. no. this isn't about just PG. it's PG exposing others who would likely be more vulnerable. we have 2+ yrs of knowledge about this now-- what a silly thought.

He should have made it very punitive if CJ benefited them enough to get into the playoffs. He should have said Lakers pick if they miss the playoffs or two future firsts unprotected. He didn't do anything like that he let them tell him that he'd take the fucking Bucks pick three drafts from now and that the Pels get it if it lands in the top 4. Completely owned! Fire Joe Cronin's Dumbass!!!

I've got to say a couple of things about Norman Powell.

I know the guy puts up good numbers, but am I the only one that think he doesn't perform anywhere close to his stats?

He missed a key FT tonight. EDIT: And he missed it badly. I remember him splitting a lot of FTs that seemed to be at important moments for the Blazers. For a guy that shoots in the mid-to-high 80s at the FT line, he seems to be so average when the lights get bright.

On top of that, where was he on offense? He made that one tough 3 down the stretch, but, otherwise, he was invisible. How does a 20 ppg scorer on a team missing Kawhi and PG become so irrelevant when it's winning time?

And I had no confidence he could stay in front of CJ. CJ might not be making shots, but he was getting loose and creating situations where the Pels could get on the offensive glass.

Trading Trent for Norm was just such a mid move. Statistically, Norm was a slight upgrade, but it wasn't enough to forgive the redundancy of adding him to the roster in Trent's place. The Blazers lost continuity, but if they were going to trade Trent, they needed to get a true 3 back, IMO.

And don't get me started on trading two firsts for RoCo.

no GM would give up an unprotected 1st round pick for CJ...not a one

I think CJ is one of those rare players whose real value is right about where he was drafted...a 10th pick

I haven't said any trades or made any comments on who we may have traded for.

If you want to just give away players on a gamble then good for you.

It has been said over and over we gave up too much.

We could have waited until closer to the deadline. We could have waited until the offseason. We could have tried to get the Pels to give us the better (or worse if they would have both of them) Lakers or Pels pick.

Bottom line is we are way less talented than we were. Hart is fine and likely a better fit.

CJ, Nance, Powell and Roco for Hart and Winslow next year is a horrible trade off.

There is close to no chance that we can put a contender around Dame.

At this point I’d be happy if Billups us coach/GM

What part of his track record as a GM or coach gives you confidence?

I don't hate the guy by any means, but it's not like his resume is anywhere near good. We were bad to start the season.

I think they were 14-13 with CJ. 8 of those 14 wins came to non-playoff teams.
That’s what makes you a better team- beating bad teams. It’s how you know you aren’t one.

As he handed over the best player in the deal who helped get them into the playoffs eventually…

Without CJ going lights out for that final stretch it’s very debatable whether NO would have even made the playoffs.

‘Here you go, take this electric scorer who can be amazing for stretches and will help you into the playoffs’.

You're not the only one. He disappears at important times.
