Who cares about that really, that's no big deal. They have done this for years if not decades where I live and nobody gives a shit. And I'm talking about a big ass logo on the front center, not a little patch like the NBA want to do

What would be cool is if the jerseys with ads were $20 cheaper then the jerseys w/o ads that they sell in the fan shop. The focus of putting ads on jerseys should be a way to benefit the fans instead of the owners. They won the lottery with the new TV contract, they don't need the jersey ad revenue.

an interesting thought...if some teams are getting 20MM plus, this will raise the salary cap disproportionately to the teams that receive less.
    why do you hate america?

I don't believe that revenue is counted towards the cap. If that were the case an owner like Paul Allen could have a special bar in the arena that charges $100k per drink, he could go in there, buy 10 drinks a game and raise the team's salary cap by $20mill a season.

well, i was just kinda musing, but if the revenue goes into the nba revenue pot, then that will affect the salary cap for all teams, even though one team might net 4x as much actual revenue from the ads.

not sure if this makes sense.

That's the whole reason I'll never buy one. :dunno: I'd wear one but I don't work for Alaskan Airlines.

Crabbe should pay to have his picture of the jerseys instead of the patch.

I haven't heard this mentioned before but all teams share the ad money generated. So even if the Warriors get 20 MIL a year then they still split that with the other teams. So really not much incentive to go crazy on asking price if you are only keeping 1/30th of it. The 76ers (who admittedly suck) only got 5 MIL a year but they are the only team that has actually signed a deal so far.

Each team keeps half of the revenue they generate from the jersey patch and the other half goes to the league’s revenue-sharing pool for all teams.

How crazy would it be then if individual players could start getting sponsored like Nascar and Boxing. Imagine the difference in real estate price from LeBron's jersey vs Luis Montero!

That'd be interesting. Player & team split the $ & it was factored into player contracts a little. Could help lower player contracts to a more reasonable level.
