New owner with deep pockets and LeBron coming to town, why would they leave? Collison is a LA boy and Big Baby would be guaranteed minutes. But it would not surprise me in that scenario if one of the two Laker free agents switched teams without changing cities. Gasol would fit in nicely with CP3 and Lebron and Jordon. (Hill would be another option for the MLE) All I am saying is that I am concerned that the Clippers could be a player in the LeBron sweepstakes. And it would not take much to fill out the roster.
@SamAmicoFSO: Sense is, despite buzz, Cavs not close to deal they like. Told they could be really busy Thursday night, "or it may be nothing." I love and HATE this time of year.
Dwight Jaynes: "The Blazers could look to make a move into the draft. ....or they may not, sources tell CSNW.
Its like the trade deadline, I love it because lots of "news" comes out and there are so many possible scenarios in the air but then in the end its like an Owen Wilson movie, lots of build up to the showtime then little payoff.
Re: NBA trade rumors If they added a future 1st round pick it might be something the Wolves would have to consider. 1 good player 1 decent but improving player and 3 first round picks that might be the best offer they get.
Re: NBA trade rumors You're right in one aspect I don't think any team would give that haul for Kevin Love... three first round picks a young player and Gibson.... But where would those picks land? Would they be in the lotto? Chicago has shown the ability to make the playoffs in the east with what... 6? 7? man rotation? I don't know if picks from Chicago are that valuable the T-wolfs because 9 chances out of 10 they won't be lotto picks... Also that team is about chemistry and working hard... If Love started to blame the team/didn't work hard... Fairly sure Noah would slap Love around a bit.
So from what I have been seeing Philly is considering dealing MCW to the Lakers for #7 pick in the draft. Which would put them in a nice position to grab 2 big name players in this draft. The goal is to try and get Wiggins and Exum, but they would settle for Wiggins and Smart or Exum and Smart. They will be an interesting team to follow.
Re: NBA trade rumors What is going on in Utah, latest rumors I have seen suggest Utah has proposed sending Alec Burks, Favors, #5 for #1 and Jack. That would be a pretty ridiculous haul for Cleveland but one potential hang up would be the Jazz actual pick at #5. It would require Exum, Vonleh or Gordon to be taken at #3 and #4 otherwise they miss out on Embiid.
chatter is that it is becoming increasingly possible that Bosh opts out and in addition Zach could opt out in Mem as contract talks have hit a snag. IMO the more higher level FA's there are the more money goes to those guys then the better pickings for our MLE and BAE money I now I'm dreaming and it won't happen but how nice would it be to get Hawes for MLE money?
That is a lot of wishful thinking on the part of Laker fans. Makes no sense for Philly unless they really think Smart is better than the rookie of the year MCW. http://section215.com/2014/06/22/sc...mcw-thad-package-steve-nash-7th-overall-pick/
Yeah the speculated plan A scenario is not happening (Wiggins and Exum to Philly) so I barely gave that any consideration. The speculated fall back plan of teaming Exum and Smart over Exum and MCW is what I question. If Smart was a better shooter than I could see how he could fit in better with Exum than Williams. Maybe Philly is high on someone else at #7 (PF to play alongside Noel or maybe they think Embiid will slide to 7? That may work out better for them.
That has been my argument all along. I don't see LeBron standing on a stage with Gilbert, smiling, shaking hands, and having to relive his embarrassing "decision" moment all over again. Not to mention the "coward" letter. The press would have a field day.
Chad Ford @chadfordinsider Heat will try to package No. 26 & Norris Cole to get up in the late teens for Napier.
Re: NBA trade rumors Looked and looks like the exact opposite to me. You're right, I'm calling it now: LeBron's opt-out was just the first domino to fall. His real objective is to buy the Cavs and be player/coach/owner.
