Teams are constantly doing backdoor deals, if you don't think every team is trying to do it and a lot do then you need to take a closer look at things. Heck even the Spurs, who everyone is talking about them being the poster child of success, did the same thing with Richard Jefferson where he opted out of 16m and let the Spurs get out of the luxury tax by then offering him 4y 35m or something along those lines.

Yah we all know Riley is pulling the strings but it is difficult to prove. Therefore the heat get a pass and more rings if its true.

This is a move to create room for Melo or Lowry.

    I loathe today's "superstars"

If I am Miami I bring in Lowry, bring in Stephenson, resign Lebron, resign Bosh and offer Wade a role as a bench player ala Ray Allen.

Do not hold your breath waiting for justice. Remember Anthony Carter's agent forgetting to opt in and it allowing the Heat to be able to sign Lamar Odom?

I still don't see LeBron wanting the dogfight the West provides. He can cruise to the finals in the East

The Suns do seem like a viable destination. A core of Bledsoe, Dragic, Lebron and Carmelo would be pretty scary. Add in Ennis, Plumlee, Warren and 3 first round picks next year and the Suns have a lot of flexibility.

An article I just read on this stated in order to sign Melo and LeBron the Suns will have to give up Dragic, Plumlee and several players plus picks to make this happen. A chunk of starters will not be back if they sign both to max deals

I've been under the impression they could keep plumlee, the morris bros and dragic. They'd have to let Bledsoe go, but they could possibly sign and trade him for Melo

Yeah, they have around 33 mil in cap space since Channing Frye opted out of his contract.

From what I understand Dragic Plumlee and Bledsoes cap hold could all be kept opening up enough room to sign Lebron and Melo. They would lose Tucker, Greene and the Morris twins though.

We better hear a rumor about the Blazers at least talking to Lebron if even the Phoenix freaking Suns are getting in on the fun.

I suspect Olshey will at least talk to his agent if not have a plan showing them how it can all work . . . don't know if we will ever hear about it.

I misread the article, they did say Dragic and Plumlee would be kept. I should never post before the second cup of coffee or see an optomistrist soon

Lebron will resign with the Heat in my view.

Opting out is the same as resigning.
