That seems contradictory to the reports coming out that they want to move the pick.

I agree, he would fit nicely in Stotts system but I agree with those that say defense is needed.

The name's being rumored are talent one notch up from what they went after last year.

    Re: NBA trade rumors

This is the description from Hoopshype

"Outstanding three-point shooter... One of the best in the league... Nice mid-range jumper... Decent rebounder for his position... Poor ballhandling skills.

I would rather go after Stuckey: "Combo guard with great scoring skills... Knows how to get to the basket... Great leaping skills... Fine mid-range game.

    Could be.

...or it could be for another team.

Saric would be much higher on teams draft boards if he would just commit to coming over.

He's been going back and forth on that. MN beat writer said the latest he's heard is that Saric wants to stay overseas for two more years.

Baxter Holmes: Ainge: "There’s been many, many guys we’ve passed on. Our medical staff told us to pass on Greg Oden... [& on] Brandon Roy."

    Ouch (X2)

    Re: NBA trade rumors

I never believe it when teams come out after someones had a career threatening/ending/recurring injury and say "we knew it so we didn't want him". Saying shit after its happened means nothing.

    Re: NBA trade rumors

It infuriates me to no end hearing all of these teams saying this. So many teams have said they were told to pass on Oden. What the fuck did we not see or care about?

    Re: NBA trade rumors

A lot of teams said this at the time as well....regarding Oden

Boston also has no dog in the Oden fight, so there is no reason for Ainge just to say that if it weren't true

I think he'll go for a tough perimeter defensive pg in the second round with Russ Smith.

Agreed. Not everyone was on the Oden bandwagon just because the majority were. There were several medical reports that indicated questionable longevity with both Oden and Roy.

    Re: NBA trade rumors

Chill. Ainge doesn't say he wouldn't have drafted Oden. Only that his medical team told him not to. I think Doc Rivers' quote is a much better indicator as to who they would have drafted. Revisionist history is just that.

    Re: NBA trade rumors

With Melo reportedly opting out, Chicago will have to dump some salary. Even if they amnesty Boozer, they will have to get rid of a lot more besides that.

A lot more? Not really. They only have rose, Noah, butler, Gibson, Snell, dunleavy and Greg smith under contract. Move dunleavy or Gibson with one of their first rounders and trade the other for a future first. Problem solved.

    Re: NBA trade rumors

Just giving up Gibson along with a 1st rounder would be a lot for many Chicago fans....Dunleavy not so much. However, if it gets them Melo I'm sure they'd be okay with that. :D
