Really? Karl Anthony Towns this season has a BETTER true shooting percentage (64.4%) than Damian Lillard in his best season (62.8%). Towns's CAREER AVERAGE is 62.2 percent. As mentioned, Lillard this season is shooting 62.8 percent, and his career average is 57.8 %. If we average Lillard's last 2 2/3 season, he's at about 60%. Lillard NEEDS another elite scorer. That makes the Blazers a contender. I do not think the Blazers are a contender without another serious and high-percentage scoring threat. Towns obviously has the size to be very difficult to defend, especially if he is teamed with Damian Lillard.
I don't understand the thinking that the Blazers will be contenders by adding more good role players. We need another guy who can score like Lillard, meaning from all over the floor at a high percentage, being difficult to defend. Or do those people think that player is on the team now? Portland probably hasn't had the assets to trade for a player like that in the past, but right now they seem to, along with draft pick(s), as the Lakers and Clippers did.
Because Portland needs more guys like Ariza. They are already top 10 in scoring. They are bottom ten in defense.
You can always get better. I don’t see the teams above Portland, like the clippers and rockets, standing pat either.
I aint google. Cool I'd just like to see Portland pick up an experienced guard going into this stretch run/playoffs. I've seen enough of Simons to realize next year or possibly the year after is the play. Going into this run with Trentjr as the 3rd guard and Simons as the 4th I don't think is a winning strategy. Trentjr may produce, he might not. Unlikely Simons does.
Dont let one 4 game streak overshadow the other 46 games. Dames not gonna average 50 the rest of the season. This team still isnt good enough to contend, and although Ive seen improvement in the things I wanted to see improvement in lately, I still dont have confidence in our coach or that itll stay consistent.
Agreed.....and even if they don't make moves, they are at least a tier above Portland in terms of how good they are. Factor in that the Blazers will be on the road for any Playoff series they might have. This. Dame is out of his mind right now and it's pure basketball joy to watch. But he will return to his mean at some point and then will we be back to where we were before or hopefully slightly better with the improvement/addition of players like Little, Trent and Ariza? It's taken Dame playing at a super-human, historical level for this winning streak to happen. It would be disingenuous to expect that to continue.
I asked you a question about this in another thread and didn't see an answer from you, sorry if you did respond and I missed it. I don't think KAT is going to be available this season. So if we don't trade Whiteside this week and they don't want CJ (it wouldn't make sense for them if they were trading KAT) what would we have to offer for KAT even if they wanted our picks and young players this summer.
I agree they need more guys like Ariza. But they also need one more guy like Lillard if the goal is to try to be a dominant team in the west, a contender not by fluke.
I see Olshey does nothing and when Nurk and Zach come back then going evaluate when majority of the team healthy and then make changes in the off season.
