So...why didn't we deal for him again??? And why are some of you luke warm on him? He just a made a move in a highlight that blew me away.

The dude has got game. If he was able to be had for a package we offering similar Nurkic, we probably should have took it.

This deal was smokescreen for the Nurkić deal. Neil PLAYED Coangelo.

Nurkic was the better choice...two way player vs scorer with no defense.....we didn't need another scorer who sucked on defense

Sure Dviss... The only person or PERSONS Neil is fooling are those in this forum and the owner. But that doesn't take much.

Bottomline...he doesn't have a plan and If he did, it was desimated a long time ago.

I think has more to do with Portland wanting to shoot for the 8th seed than anything.
With Turner+Aminu's injury the trade for Okafor would have been similar to a trade @BonesJones put out there.
    Harkless + pick for Okafor.
Without Harkless Portland would then be relying heavily on Layman until Turner was healthy. I don't think they wanted to do that.
Although I acquiring Okafor would have been the best move for the team.

You have to make the picture yourself using "prt sc" and something like Paint.

This is a two way sport.

    Defense matters.

He'll be back on the table come draft night. We'll get him then! You think Neil's giving up this easy? Think again!!

My idea was trading Crabbe to Philadelphia for Henderson and Okafor, then packaging Harkless, Okafor, and picks for a star.

The idea was proposed for Butler, so Butler replaces Harkless.

So it wasn't that they would've had to rely on Layman.

I'm not sure what's so funny. It's pretty clear that Neil leveraged a potential Okafor trade to squeeze the 1st rounder out of Denver.

Funny, how come no one is bumping this thread tonight? 4 points, 7 turnovers. Why didn't we get him??

Because nobody really cares (especially with deadline gone)? :dunno:

I like Okafor's ceiling, but I don't necessarily believe he'll reach it (not with the direction the league is currently heading). Ironically, people say he'd have fit the league better years ago. Well, he played the team that typifies the way the league is going.... And those stats you posted were achieved in 17 minutes with 5 fouls. Ugh.

Ironically, some scouts say Nurkic would fit the league better in a past generation. That may well be true. Maybe he just simply works in our system. Especially as the only "plodding" post player on our roster (his ability to set big screens and pass the rock help).

Could you imagine if we acquired him instead of Ezeli. At least he did not ride a bench and collect a million.
