Nick Young and Jordan Farmar are better than anyone on our bench last year. The Lakers will be decent this year. Kobe Bryanr will be ready to go on opening night and Gasol will be better with Dwight gone. I hate the Lakers but we should not ignore them.

You just said Farmar was good at all. Instant discredit.

The Lakers will be terrible, Gasol has done nothing but wither no matter who is playing with him.

The lakers will finish with a worse record than us. That being said, we both will likely miss the playoffs.

No, but I don't disagree with him that Portland may not make the playoffs either. We seem to have more potential on paper, but they have more veterans and should in theory know how to win games better than us

One more year of d antoni will be a nightmare. Also, we can look at minny and how they fared the last two seasons and see they won't be ahead of us.

One could argue that we maybe only 7th or 8th seed; but only a fool would think minny, nola and the lakers will be ahead of us.

They had more vets than just about anyone last year and people were predicting the Lakers would finish in the top 2 in the conference last year - that didn't work out. Not. Swayed.

Your negativity is SERIOUSLY annoying... :deadhorse:

On another more serious note, I hope you are doing well physically.
You'd be amazed at how much the power of positivity can help your health.
Stay in good spirits Blazer buddy.

I prefer to believe that MediocreMan is using this board to take out all of his anger and negativity on anonymous people, while enjoying every minute he gets in 'real life' with those who love him. That must be the case, right? Otherwise, why would anyone spend time after a horrible diagnosis being a troll on a message board?

Gasol is withering? Did you see him at the end of last season? Posting triple doubles almost every other night, grabbing 20 rebounds, he will be great this season.

D'Antoni has more of the kind of players he wants this year. The team will be more on the same page.
The last two seasons, Minnesota was severely injured. If they're healthy, they're dangerous. Not saying either team will be better than us but they will be good.

If Kobe is totally healthy they have a decent rotation:

Gasol, Kaman, Hill rotating at the 4-5
Kobe, Meta, Young , Meeks at the 2-3
Nash, Farmar, Blake, Duhon at the 1

Not very athletic...... but experienced. Not sure they are really D'Antoni type of guys though. And they certainly look like injuries could be a problem with their age. But overall it is not a bad team. It will come down to how they hold up for 82 games. And of course how Kobe comes back.

Sadly, not sure how much validity I can put in a publication that puts OKC 5th in the conference, and drops Memphis all the way to 7th, based on the losses of Kevin Martin and Rudy Gay, respectively. It appears this writer places high value on no-defense chuckers...

I do think OKC will drop off some, but 5th??

Hm, now that I think about it, it's possible. It could be a scenario where teams 2-6 are separated by 1 or 2 games.

However, the biggest "seriously?" to me was the Nuggets. I think they're going to struggle. Who is their go to player/best player?

I see you've decided to start making arguments against a mentality that no one ever uses, huh?

Yeah this statement is not convincing:

"They lost Corey Brewer and Andre Iguodala, but added Darrell Arthur, J.J. Hickson and Nate Robinson. They still have the personnel to play the all-out blitzing style that got them 57 wins last year, and they can do it with bigger players."

And I agree that there is no way OKC will fall below GS. They will still end up in the top 2-3

Oh yeah. I was going off the Salary list. That actually may be addition by subtraction.
