<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "jdub":</div><div class="quote_post">they are even on offense, but when it comes to d u gotta give it to kobe, so kobe is better overall</div><div class="quote_poster">Quoting "olskoolFunktitude":</div><div class="quote_post">yea he is but u cant say they dont matchup witht eh lakers if kobe cant make it look like a mismatch agiaanst bowen</div>Remember that All-Star Game when Kobe got blocked by T-Mac on one of the first possessions? How many points did T-Mac score in that game? Oh, that's right, TWO! That's how Kobe D's up.
all star games don't mean squat. he didn't play as much and that was his 1st one. he has been doing awesome in the last 2 all star games in case u care.
I do care, and I know -- I love T-Mac's game, as I already said. But guys, seriously, can you just give one good answer for why you think T-Mac is better than Kobe if they're similar on offense and if Kobe's far superior on defense???
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "truemaster14":</div><div class="quote_post">handles,shooting,3pt shooting, passing all better than kobe. passing may be even though</div> Kobe is clearly the better passer..but why is this damn topic still going on
how is kobe a better passer??prove it. and if you wanna talk stats tmac averaged 6.1 assits after the trade
Big deal after the trade..if you hadn't noticed a season is you know a whole season...who cares how many he got after the trade....what he did on the whole season is what counts..kobe had more assists..and he averaged over 7 assists a game without shaq..who has weaker role players than what magic have...
let's compare stats after this season and you will realize that tmac is the better player now that he has some help.
Haha, I just took a look at this and Tracy won, wuahahahaha! I'm quite speechless, how does a guy that hasn't passed the first round win over a guy that has three rings on his fingers.
you mean next season? it will be difficult mainly because kobe will have to play with two other allstars..so his point average will be down...and maybe assists a he has GP with him...mcgrady will have a great season...thats a fact...i don't really care who is better anymore...i think it's time to stop comparing..and be thankful we get to watch them both....
McGrady didn't get triple teamed. Maybe once or twice a game, but nothing consistent because no team is stupid enough to triple team a wing player with the abilities of Tracy McGrady. The only consistent defense that McGrady faced was man coverage.
Let me put in my 2cents that I think will hopefully shed some light on the battle at hand: I believe, and hope you all can see the wisdom in this, that the mark of a truly phenomenal basketball player is how much you want him in the most crucial of moments during a game -- crunchtime, leads going back and forth, the clutch. T-Mac, in all of his talent and athleticism, certainly seems to look marginally better than Kobe, jacking up three's a few feet behind the arc or extending his wings out to flip a layup in. And while there is no doubt that T-Mac is a great player, putting out the kind of stats most would dream of, it is still Kobe who I would want on the floor when the game is on the line. It is not so much his crossover or his fade that impress me, it is that he scores, in the most important situations, seemingly at will. Last year against the Spurs, he missed a shot, darted into the lane, overextended the entire length of his body to grab the rebound with one arm and got back in the air to flip it in for the win. And this year, with games on the line against the Wolves and the Spurs, how many times did he make trey after trey to keep the Lakers in the ballgame? That's what counts. Heart. Passion. Fire. This is what makes Kobe that much better.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">that tells you that kobe cant score great and dish the ball at the same time. while tmac can</div> What? Kobe averaged 28 pts 7 rebs and 7 ast before that 40 point streak. That looks like he's scoring great, dishing the ball well, and getting rebounds while getting 2 steals per game.
