    WooHoo!
Now we can really get nasty in our responses!

There is a reason i stay out of the OT for the most part. I do like a few of the threads but i'm pretty hit and miss on that side of the forum.

Because of a few things, I get it more than most.

NBA players sitting out games won’t affect police brutality and voting

fucking hell, this is NOT off topic. The NBA bubble is about to end because of a protest.

WTF are we going to talk about on the main forum? The empty floors and how shiny they are?

I realize this is a joke to you, but you're missing the point. This isn't about Trump v Biden. This is a massive moment in NBA history that you decided is conveniently off topic.

It's not a joke to me. There is a thread in the main section of the forum that you created discussing this and there is this thread in here.

Absolutely ridiculous comparison. How about we look at it this way. You actually had a band aid to put on. Some have never had the chance to put a band aid on. If you are too stupid to put it on the cut that is on you but if you have never even been given the band aid in the first place who's fault is that?
Also it seems you also think you don't have to stop the bleeding and clean the cut before putting a band aid on? That is what we call first aid training. We could compare this to Education and training for officers and first responders. Now are you getting it?
Certain people are treated differently just because they are a certain color or race or gender or religion. Understanding that this is not acceptable in this country is and has been a long road. Maybe you are one step closer today than you were yesterday. Lets hope so.

And it's extremely naive to think that you're ever going to stop the bleeding. It would require a complete tear down and rebuild of law enforcement across the country on all levels. And despite what you think, police brutality and abuse of power is not limited to minorities. The job attracts shitty people. The job will always attract shitty people. And to prevent that, you would need sweeping police reform at a federal level, and to do that you would need city and state officials to sign off on adhering to that reform. There are nearly a million cops in the United States. So even if you got rid of 80% of the bad apples, there's still gonna be enough Johnnie Laws in small bumpkin town USA that will shoot a person of color on camera. Do you understand the magnitude of the problem? And not just the actual problem, but the perception of the problem. You only need 1 cop a day to make a horrible mistake for people to continue to think there's a problem. 365 cops a year. Out of a million. You could completely reform law enforcement, get rid of 99% of the bad apples and you'd still have 100,000 bad cops. Think about that.

i dont get it.... they are boycotting a GAME that they get paid millions for because the police shot someone who is a violent offender and was reaching into his car after the cops told him to stop and tried using a taser which didnt work.

help me understand this, because it doesnt make sense for them to boycott. at all. boycotting games only hurts the NBA, and everything associated with it, even more.

They fucking shot him 7 times in the back in front of his 3 children....fuck that...cops are supposed to protect the peace...not assasinate citizens ...there's no reasonable doubt bullshit in this case...it's called police brutality

1, they fired twice and it did nothing, so they fired to get him to stop reaching for something.
2, the cops arent at fault for this happening in front of children. do not blame them for this.
3, if you had a violent offender wrestle you down, you pulled out a taser and it didnt work, they got up, and went to their drivers door to reach for something, what are you going to do? stand there and just let him do whatever he wants? come on now.
    4, he didnt die.

I absolutely blame them for this...how can you not blame them for this is beyond me...you can wing somebody in the legs and immobilize them...shooting him in the back is against all police protocol
