I can’t believe the entire border crisis can’t be fixed. But we have these really cool pictures of Saturn and might find an organism on the moon or some shit.

How are those two things even related?

Space is just technology. Border issues involve humans.

It can certainly be fixed. But if we fixed it the wealthy would lose a huge marginalized population which they can take advantage of and use to strike fear into the hearts of the poor and poorly educated.

It's easier to extract money and cheap services from the desperate and uneducated.

The cool pictures of Saturn and finding an organism on the moon are a part of the solution rather than the problem.

I'm not sure illegal immigration is a real problem. We have a worker shortage in this country which is fueling an inflation crisis. Seems like there are plenty of people willing to work and begging to do so, they just are not citizens. So bring them in, get them on the books, have them pay taxes, give them services similar to citizens for taxes paid, give them a path to citizenship, kick them out of they are a problem. These people's children often become professional labor and innovators of tomorrows society. How is that bad? It's how our country has worked from the beginning.

Agreed. There has been something like $1 trillion per year contributed to our GDP for decades that we can't quantify.

This has generally been considered to be from illegal immigration.

I think it's a problem in that it puts the immigrants at risk and helps drugs and criminals cross the border illegally by hiding among legit asylum seekers.

We could do far better than we are currently doing.

It's a problem like illegal drugs are a problem, and by that I mean that most of the problem stem from them being illegal rather than having a rational approach to them. Two things that will make this hard to change are politics and capitalism. D and R don't care, they just appeal to the different emotions on the subject but benefit from keeping it status quo. Capitalism has created a for profit system out it that is hard to overcome.

Agree 100%. It's a wedge issue which is very profitable for both parties.

Just talked with my aunt that lives in Yuma and she has always helped migrants that come onto her property, but she's overwhelmed by the amount of migrants and entering her property now and thinks its totally out of control.
She's always been a volunteer that helps those in need including migrants that have crossed. I asked her if the cartel stuff you hear about is for real, she thinks they are the ones in total control and the amount of drugs that are coming across is insane and future deaths just waiting to happen.
She's a tough women but she seems broken by what going on down there. SAD

Title 42 got upheld by the Supreme Court. I don't know how that effects her. I don't want drugs in just as much as the next person, but there does need to be specific rules and regulations for immigration. It's a complex topic.
