A 3 team trade, something like this: Lakers gives: Kwame Brown, 2007 1st rounder + expiring contracts (just like shapecity said). Nets gives: Jason Kidd Minnesotta gives: Kevin Garnett Lakers gets: Kevin Garnett Nets gets: Kwame + 1st rounder and expiring contracts Minessotta gets: Jason Kidd I don't know if if gives something new to the Minny, but it sure would bring some fresh blood in there and the Lakers would have Kobe & KG then ! :

I mean for all he has done for them, they could at least do him a favor and send him to a contender.
I'd love to see JKidd a Laker. He gives us that big guard that is typically used to run the tri. While he's not the greatest offensive player in the world, he wouldn't have to be with Kobe and Odom around. Beyond that, he'll be able to create open opportunities for each of them with his ability to pass the ball. I'd love it. I just highly doubt that Thorn and Kupcake would be able to come up with a deal for him to come to LA.
No way this will happen unless J-Kidd comes to LA via free agency. Right now, all these big players that were mentioned, are hard to acquire without giving up Bynum or at least LO. What I hope for the Lakers to do is just wait until '08 to acquire Ron Artest. I have a feeling when Ron Artest comes to LA, we'll be hunting together with the west wolve pack.
How effective is Kidd going to be in the triangle offense? His game is more suited for a more up tempo style that doesn't fit the Lakers. But Jason Kidd is a terrific defender and might be the missing piece for the Lakers to go deep into the playoffs.

They only run the Triangle about 30% of their possessions. Jason Kidd will be just fine in the offense, because of his court vision and understanding of angles. The only part Kidd might struggle with is remembering the terminology they use when a play is called. Other than that, it's a basic fundamental of basketball, find the open man, and Kidd excels at it.
I don't think a player like Kidd would have any trouble learning the terminology of the Laker's offense. He's a very smart player with high basketball IQ, it should come naturally.
I don't see any reason why JKidd would have issues figuring out the tri. He's a seasoned veteran and he's got a very high IQ and a great understanding of the game as well. Our rookie Jordan Farmar has learned it already for the most part, so I don't see why Jason Kidd would have any issues with it, other than the fact that he's never really run a system like it in his career to my knowledge.
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I've been a fan of Jason Kidd since he played in high school. He's the guard and veteran leader this Laker team needs right now. Kidd would bring a new element to the Lakers offense, and improve the perimeter defense. The Nets just lost Nenad Kristic for the rest of the season, without him they don't have any post scorers. Richard Jefferson is contemplating having ankle surgery, and Vince Carter is going to be a top 3 free agent this summer. With the Nets drafting Marcus Williams, and the trio not getting any younger or cheaper, it might be time for the Nets to rebuild. This Laker squad has been notoriously inconsistent. I attribute it to youth, because it's obvious the team does not come into every game or even every quarter focused on basketball. Most of these guys aren't at a point in their careers where winning a Championship is the pinnacle. The players aren't sharp, they aren't in tip top physical condition, and they don't play hungry until they find themselves down by double digit margin. Bringing in a veteran with Jason Kidd's hunger to win a title and strong work ethic will carry over in the locker room. His ability on both ends makes the game easier for players and he can cover a lot of mistakes with his cerebral approach to the game.</div> i agree. Kobe and kidd together is the ultimate backcourt and that team would be a contendar for a championship for sure.. but at the same time they shouldn't give away andrew bynum. Instead i agree with the others and they should give up kwabe brown, Sasha, 1st round piks, and smush parker
Well, Kidd could just worry about giving Kobe and Odom the ball. He gets his 10assists right there. Then he out rebounds Kwame and leads the team in rebounds. It could work.
