There are people behind these usernames, and right now two real people are escalating shit. Only one of them is showing this escalation to his buddies with the sole purpose of hoping they will laugh at the other guy.

The time for diplomacy is never over. This isn't some stupid action movie; this is real life with real people involved.

None of what is happening is cool; but taking shit public isn't the answer.

To be honest, this is taking a turn I didn't think it would. It seemed pretty normal for a couple of pages.

I liked your post for the simple reason you used the correct spelling of sow in this context.

In my experience, once both aggrieved posters join the discussion, it's bound to become decisive as other posters rush to join one camp or the other. In the last few posts alone we've seen a personal attack and a lot of "he started it" finger pointing. I fail to see how any of this is beneficial to the community.

If the thread would have simply been about how to deal with negativity in the game threads, that would have actually been helpful. But, it's not. It's now a KS vs. HCP internet cage fight with backers of both fighters jumping into the ring.

Yeah, we know there are people behind the usernames. And in this case, one of the "real names" contacted the other one, IN REAL LIFE, about shit that was said on a message board.

I'm not really sure how the guy who hasn't continually harped about a fucking bet, hasn't contacted the other one about the stupid fucking bet, hasn't flooded this board with posts about it, hasn't even brought it up out of the blue, is the one you're throwing shit at.

King is not a victim here, he's not innocent, and he's getting exactly what he deserves out of this, and exactly what he wants (attention).

If THAT is your argument, I agree. But HCP feels that he needs to point out that the guy who did all of what I said above, is still saying that shit in real life.

One he (king) brought it into real life, it changed things.

whats to stop king from contacting the Blazers about this, or even worse, sending HCP stuff in the mail?

This isn't how i would've dealt with it, but I'm not HCP and I find no reason to fault him for doing it the way he did.

The one thing I have learned about posting in community forums is there are always going to be posters that post primarily for the attention they receive. They can either be outlandishly positive, outlandishly negative, just flat out off the wall, but in the end it's all about getting attention. It's even more easy to idnetify those posters when they feel the need to create an exit speech.

OKay, My take on all this.

Way over blown. Everyone can get up in the heat of the moment, but we al must level ourselves back to a common ground.

Here is the thing. Being impartial about posts I've read since I have been here, I think both HCP and King can be very testy and love to try to "Push Buttons"

A perfect match for each other, so its no wonder they are butting heads so hard.

What is silly is making statements like this is a forum, "let it go". "take a step back" and "your taking this too seriously" by people who are actually trying to poke him.

I also find it funny that a couple people who say some take this place too seriously are ones who themselves hold grudges based off of one specific conversation and then condemn with a final judgment. Talk about not being able to get over stuff.... LOL. Talk about the ultimate hypocrisy...

Your right. I'm wrong. You take this too seriously, but I'm never going to converse with you again because you take this too seriously.. But... i'm not taking this too seriously at all.

Those of you who do this know who you are too. ;) But its okay. I forgive you, because this IS just a forum and people say and do things all the time they might want to take back later. I'm not going to condemn or judge or hold a grudge. Its all good. :) I think a few of you who say some take this too seriously, should also not take it so seriously.

So the solution is to post texts on an internet message board? It's asinine to do that, regardless of the reason why. People laughed at PapaG when someone started texting him pictures of guns. They posted pictures of guns in all his threads. This forum has a pack mentality that's pretty stupid sometimes.

Well shit, that's at least three white, American big men you actually like. I'm sensing a trend. What about Walton - the player, not the announcer? You be hating on Big Red, too?

and what do papag and king have in common?

they both need to not post on message boards until they can separate real life from fantasy. They're caught in a landslide, "sow" to speak.

Ha! see what I did there? Shut up, it was funny.

"Don't be a dick" is a great philosophy of life, but the trick is to not be a dick even when someone is being a dick to you. You don't get a free pass to be a dick "this one time" because someone was a dick to you. The whole point of "don't be a dick" is to not be a dick in the face of dickish behavior.

That's the only point I'm trying to get across, i guess.

Huh? Let's not act like Eric hasn't aired out dirty laundry on the front page before. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's posted private conversations with HCP as well although I may be wrong on this front.

A few years ago I bet Mags 6 to 1 that neither LMA or Lillard would make the ASG as a starter. When neither was announced a starter I didn't even go back and collect my winnings. This was partly because I didn't really care about a stupid bet on an internet forum, but if he didn't decide to pay I wouldn't really have given a shit either.

ERIC, in this situation, cannot seem to let it go. The only thing he cared about is being "RIGHT" (the one time out of what, 100?) and shoving it in peoples faces. He even started multiple threads calling out HCP and brought it to the attention of the moderators.

I'm sorry if I can't feel bad for someone like him.

Actually, I did. I pictured KS as a seamstress, because that is literally what you said. My mind is very literal, either that or I'm just weird.

Another observation is there is this stigma that all people are entitled to their opinions, and while that is true, it does not always make their opinions right and automatically make everyone else's wrong. I notice as well that people that are constantly reminding people that "It's my opinion and I have the right to my opinion and you have no right to tell me otherwise" are A: violating their own law of people being entitled to opinions, and B: typically are complete assholes. SO when I see a discussion and I see a person constantly defending their right to their opinion I normally feel they are defending their right to be an asshole.

But KS isn't posting on a message board right now; HCP is posting his texts. Hell, the entire thread was about him stepping back for his own good, but WE are the ones not letting it go. That's my point! It can't end if HCP isn't letting it end by being the better man.
