Josh Richardson is my #1 target. He has the skillset that this team is missing. He's what many thought Harmless would turn into.

Olshey is gonna go down as the GM that drafted, and then proceeded to waste the career of, the best trail blazer ever.

That’s worse than anything KP or Trader Bob ever did.

He's arguably their 2nd or 3rd best player. On a reasonable contract. How nice of you to target him. Now make it worth Miami's while

    Exactly.

Would y'all be ready to give up C.J. for him? Because that's what it'd take.

I see it a bit differently if NO’s last day was today (I keep checking lol), I’d remember him as the guy who sold every asset, spun every word to make it sound like the situation was always way better than it was. To the I never could trust if he was being realistic about what he had, he either over valued everything making trades harder, or he just flat out stretched the truth as far as possible to try to sway public opinion.

The wins have gone up every year and that Nurk trade is why I believe he still has a job.

Sometimes I feel like you’d trade CJ for anything lol. It’s all good I actually don’t disagree with you all that much, but I think if you’re going to trade CJ you could do much better than Josh Richardson (who isn’t a bad player at all), but CJ is better.

Also, though he's been in the league longer, Harkless and Richardson are the same age.(harkless 4 months older). Harkless had a down year this year, by all our opinions. He picked it up at the end, before injury.
Harkless had a FAR superior ORTG, same DRTG, similar PER, Harkless a way better TS%, better WSper 48, higher BPM, shot better from 3, better from 2, tiny better rebounding.
What we THOUGHT Harkless would become? Harkless was comparable in a year we all hated from him. This is truly a grass is always greener.

And trade CJ for him? Yes? That's the dumbest fucking post ever. That's worse than wanting to trade him for Kyle Anderson and Boban. You're and idiot. Post. That post is an idiot. That's what I mean. ignore...

Absolutely not. Richardson is maybe a slightly better than average player in the league as of this time.

Josh Richardson is at best, an average offensive player. Yes, he's a good defender, but he's basically Courtney Lee at this point in his career...

    -- PER 36 --
    J.R.
    - 14.0ppg / 3.8reb / 3.1ast / 1.9tov / 45.1FG% / 37.8 3P%
    C.L. - 14.2ppg / 3.5reb / 2.8ast / 1.3tov / 45.4FG% / 40.6 3P%

Defensively, Richardson has a DRTG of 106 compared to Lee's 113, but Richardson is surrounding with many good defenders (Winslow, Whiteside, Adebeyo, Olynyk) while Lee was surrounded with horrible ones (Kanter, Beasley, Mudiay, Hardaway, Burke, etc.) Lee is known as a good defender, so I don't think Richardson has an advantage there... If he does, it's not much, and Lee is definitely a better offensive player, so they're relatively similar.

Yet this dude hates the idea of adding Lee for the (soon to be unused) TPE, but would trade C.J. for Richardson. Makes 0 sense, but whatever.

Yup. Good defender, average to below average offensive player.

Do you happen to know how those stats project over a career? To be fair most players start off slow. - again like my above post says wouldn’t do it for CJ I think they could do better, just curious.

What do you mean do they project? Obviously Richardson is the better trade candidate because he's younger, but he's 25 going into next season, so I don't expect him to improve all that much more... It's not like he has more raw talent that he can tap into. Lee will slowly decline (but his game isn't such that'll lead to sharp decline). Richardson's best season was actually his rookie year.

Like I guess what I mean is I’ve seen different models that use a players first few years in the NBA and then show what that “might” mean for a players career / prime. Sorry if that’s not making sense I probably should’ve paid better attention in my statistics classes...

at 6'6" and 240lbs, richardson also fills in well at the point and is considered a very good defender and playmaker. spoleastra talks him up and he usually has the toughest wing assignment on that end of the floor.

Richardson is an elite defensive wing that can hit 3’s... you can easily make up the 9 points less he scores than CJ... and team would play better overall because they would play more as a TEAM... CJ is an undersized ISO ball chucker that doesn’t play defense... plus his salary is terrible at 26-30 mil per season over the next 3 years for a one way player that doesn’t pass
