    <div class="quote_poster">AnimeFANatic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Probably. I'm just saying who I'd want if Nellie left.</div>

I hear ya -- if, heavens forbid, Nellie does leave, I think the most important quality for a prospective coach with this roster is respect. I don't care how good of an X's & O's guy you are -- see Mike Montgomery -- if the players don't respect you, forget it,

That's why Nellie has been so great -- he has earned the admiration and trust of Baron, Jax, JRich, etc. -- and they go and play their hearts out for him. They have all the talent and athleticism in the world -- it's just a matter of becoming unified under one plan and working together. Nellie does that.

So, whoever would come in, I just hope he can command respect (either from much NBA coaching success, or a former player who CAN RELATE to this new generation of players and make friends with them). If you get on Jax's good side, he'll be an all-star player for you. Otherwise, he might be more of a detriment in the lockerroom. This is probably true for most players...

I think if Nellie doesn't come back (BTW I think he will and he's just having second thoughts about coming back because he's tired.), then it will be Keith Smart.

But I'm not a Smart fan. I could be wrong, but while Smart seems to know the Xs and Os, he doesn't seem to be very loose when he does interviews on KNBR. He seems to think more about his answers and in everything he does at work. I just think we need a more loose and flexible coach like Nelson in order to get the most out of our players. With small ball, motivation is a big factor.
