Because VC is likely out after this season and we don't have tons of prospects like the Celtics and Magic do. Not to mention they are getting ready for the move to Brooklyn. As much as I love the Nets, I don't have much faith that they will turn it around in 2-3 years after they trade Kidd and Vc gets out.
I agree Nitro. If Kidd is traded, it's almost guaranteed that Carter will leave the Nets this summer. Keep Kidd around improves the odds of Carter staying... but I don't know by how much. If both guys aren't Nets next year, at least the Nets will have a decent trio to build around in RJ, Krstic and Marcus Williams.
As good as it sounds, it's not all great. We would get a great player in Kidd but, he's also getting old. The Lakers would be giving up a lot of their youth for what looks like a quick fix. Look at the Miami Heat. They traded a young and talented core for an old and outta shape Shaq. That may bring in short term success but in the long run, it may not be so fun. However, keeping Kobe, Lamar and Bynum would still leave the team in some good shape. But giving up Kwame? Come on!
Well, any pessimists to this deal don't have to worry. Unless some miracle happens, this won't go down.http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Ki...-?urn=nba,24424"Extremely remote."
Hey you never know what's going to happen. Doesn't VC already want to be traded even with Kidd still a Net. I've heard that he wants to go to Orlando or Charlotte or something. And it's about time the Nets trade Kidd to a team who needs Kidd. The Lakers give up a lot of youth for a Veteran who is still an all star but Kidd will seriously help their team better and he is the missing part that the Lakers need.
