Nets could be sellers at deadline. Interesting.

It is true they cannot tank. Atlanta can swap picks with them this year and then they owe either their pick or a worse pick from the Hawks to Boston. They will have a first round pick next year but they cannot trade that pick. Same with 2017.

Basically that team is in shambles.

We should milk them for Reggie Evans Andre Blatche and Kenyon Martin.

They played together at start of season? The beat Miami, with them I think.

KG fits that but his attitude would kill team chemistry. He's a dick.

Reggie is the only one I'd take of the three.

 that's beyond terrible. Have you even bothered to watch Terry this season?

    6 PPG | 41 fg% | 9.3 PER | 36 years old

    He's done.

Agreed. We can win now with CJ. We're currently winning without CJ or Terry.

Ok I looked it up again. Brooklyn doesn't have any first round pick in 2014, 2016 or 2018. The Nets get the worse of their 2015 or Atlantas 2015 pick. The Nets get the worse of their 2017 or Boston's 2017 pick.

Blatche would give us size and scoring off the bench.

He is one guy I wanted this offseason. With his low salary, I don't see why the Nets would be looking to give him up, unless they sent him along with a bad contract.

So Garnett and Blatche for TRob, Wright, Meyers and Barton.....

At this point I'm not sure if Garnett has anything left in the tank, he has an 11 PER. Meyers and TRob have some long-term upside. Wright gives us an option at the wings. I'm curious to see how the 2nd unit performs over the next 10 games with Meyers at PF. It could help Mo and Wright's efficiency. Think I'd rather just stick with what we got.

Agree with the bolded. And I still wouldn't want KG, guaranteed trip to the Finals or no.

I think the Nets debacle clearly illustrates the importance of coaching. There's a faction of fans that believes coaching matter very little - that the players are wholly responsible for Ws & Ls. But Williams/KG/Johnson/Pierce/Terry/etc know how to play better than most players in the league, and it doesn't matter one bit because they have no direction from their coach.
Put KG on the Clips and he'd be a very solid back-up. I suspect he'd also be a solid back-up for us, and he's exactly the sort of player we'll need once the POs start.
I'd MUCH rather have Robinson on the roster than KG, but KG would likely be better if we're in "win now" mode.

What's the consensus on Joe Johnson? Experts think Blazers need a third scorer, would he be that guy and is he an upgrade over Wesley Matthews?

I don't want to screw with our starting rotation or our chemistry, period. I do want our bench to play better or for the team to improve the bench. That means better players who are content coming off the bench. If that's Joe Johnson, then he'd be taking Mo's minutes, not Wesley's. If he's not ok with that, I'm not ok with him. Maybe CJ is the guy we need, but it seems unlikely considering he has zero NBA experience. A better vet backup PF/C would be a better investment than a SG, IMO.

No, Welsey is a better team player in our offense. Joe Johnson would be a downgrade.

But besides that Joe Johnson has $69 million remaining on his $123 million contract. No chance in hell the Blazers would have any interest.

Yikes. Is that the same insane contract he signed a few years back, or a new insane contract?

I wouldn't make the trade. For the reasons, you suggested. Chemistry. Wesley being a team and character guy is a big reason for it. Interestingly at the end of the year when they are looking for areas and ways to improve the team, I think it will be the two position. But I guess all that be determined on how the rest of the year is played out.

I don't see what's in it for the Nets.
