Unless they have been trying to tank I can see why. They have some talent that many here wanted to trade for and other than Simmons, not many injuries. These guys all played 39 games + Mikal Bridges SF Cam Thomas SG Cameron Johnson SF Spencer Dinwiddie PG * Nic Claxton C Dorian Finney-Smith PF Day'Ron Sharpe C Royce O'Neale PF * Dennis Smith But to be fair to Vaughn, with Simmons out, they really did not have a PG to run things. That can be a problem as we all know.
Brooklyn sold their soul to get James Harden. If they don't start winning games, the Rockets will become the NBA's hot bed of talent in 3 years. Hopefully the Nets can find a hardwood tactician, because nobody wants to see the Rockets succeed with anything.
It would be an interesting mental exercise to make a list of how many teams have greatly benefited by trading with them, without any significantly bad trades offsetting it. We certainly did with Gerald Wallace and Sam Bowie.
Historically the Nets aren't awful. Their Buffalo Bills-esque finals runs during the Lakers/Spurs years were good. But since those Lawrence Frank years they've had Avery Johnson, PJ Carlesimo (caretaker), Jason Kidd, Lionel Hollins, Tony Brown (c/t), Kenny Atkinson, Jacques Vaughn (c/t), Steve Nash, Jacques Vaughn (again), and whoever they hire now. 10 coaches in 14 years.
if firing jacque vaughn isnt blatant racism, i just dont know what is... also stephen a smith is sad that black head coach got fired, cause thats what matters the most, him being black and a head coach in the nba
This makes me wonder what Stephen A will say when Chauncey gets fired from Portland which happens to be the whitest city in the country or close anyway?
its absolutely disgusting the way theyre talking about black head coaches, stephen a smith first and foremost, but there are others too, for them race comes first, then the rest to me it doesnt matter, all 30 head coaches, general managers or owners could be of black or some other race, it simply shouldnt matter either youre good at your job or youre not, simple as that, you should hire people based on their qualifications/talent/character
After seeing the Nets last night I really have no idea what that franchise is. I saw one commentator call them a storage locker full of players. Simmons will be an expiring next year and is likely to be dealt. Maybe they are waiting on that? Claxton likely to bolt. Bridges/Thomas look like great 2nd/3rd options on a team without a 1st option. No coach. Houston owns their pick.
I love that just because I don’t want to read a new thread everytime somebody has something to say that I’m considered Thread Police……. Carry on.
I agree, Brooklyn basketball is a boring thread. But we should keep an eye on them, as the Nets might be dumb enough to trade Portland a really good player for a draft pick.
