Sloan quitting was the canary in the coalmine. Utah's management was proactive. I applaud them for making a bold move. I bet they were getting the feeling that Williams wasn't going to stay in Deseret.
Honestly, I have no idea how Cho lost this Harris deal. His inaction forced New Jersey to go to Utah in desperation.
a lot of utah fans had soured on deron. him talking about leaving in 2012 hasn't helped. the utah reaction to this trade isn't all negative.
He's probably thrilled. The Jazz were in a tailspin and he's moving to the biggest media market in the country with an owner willing to spend. When they move to Brooklyn, they're going to raise their profile dramatically. With a core of Lopez and Williams, there will be a LOT of players that will wish to join them. It's Devin Harris and Derrick Favors that are bummed right now. You're obviously a Nyets fan, so why are you excited?
Utah, what happened? Such a stable franchise for so long. This is shocking. And I LOVE IT! I have NO PROBLEM keeping 'Dre. It's not like Harris would be the big piece to us winning long term. In fact, the way the NBA is headed, we'll never be able to win a championship. So really, I'm just going to enjoy the moment. The future is irrelevant for 80% of the NBA now.
It's not the Harris deal, it's a combination of every missed deal. Then to hear we will stand pat...I realize it's Quick...To get nothing out of yet another expiring contract is how teams become constant also rans
Will be interesting to see. I did not get the feel that Lopez had the good hands that Boozer had for lethal pick and roll, he seems to me like more of a low-post player in the Al Jefferson mold - which did not work all that great with Deron - but I have not seen enough of him to really say it with conviction. You know who has fantastic hands for motion offense? LaMarcus Aldridge. It will be interesting to see however.
A crazy thought: Miller and Joel for Harris and one of the Jizz' ugly contracts. Dre played his college ball in SLC. It would have to be two separate deals.
