Hmmmm...let's see, Marc Jackson is an inferior offensive player, inferior in athletic ability, inferior defender, and an inferior rebounder. He's also not been the most healthy player throughout his career, tell me again how this is good?
i liek the marc jackson aquisation. hes a decent center/pf who can go out and give u 8 points and 5 boards, its a downgrade from raheem but a upgrade from collins
now im wondering is the injury of SAR really that bad, that its not really worth the trade! we got Marc Jackson instead of SAR! its a down grade for us coz i think even a injured SAR can do better than a Healthy Jackson! the only thing i like with the jackson trade is he gave us a big body that can bang inside the paint other than that, bad PLAN B for me!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">I agree, the Nets have to be second guessing their draft pick decision. I was expecting a trade to be announced on draft day, but the Nets obviously saw something they liked with Wright. Steven Hunter, sure would look nice running with Jason Kidd and company. He's still on the market, the Nets should definitely pursue him.</div> Love the sig, lol. Steven Hunter would be a good signing. He's a decent shotblocker, and he could run the floor. He's still young and has upside. Honestly we shouldn't be worried, as we have so many options to work with. There's still some nice bigs in the market we can go after.
Wow i thought the trade would go threw. I hope Thorn has a plan B becuase if he doesnt it really sucks. I guess we should of went for Swift instead of Reef
No worries.... all you gotta do is sucker Rob Babcock into another lopsided trade. Mercer, Robinson and a future 2nd rounder could probably be enough to get Chris Bosh
NOw we have to make a hard push at Steven Hunter because he's a big athletic big man who can play good defense.

I have a feeling he might resign with the Suns.

So offensively I think despite the fact he isnt going to score that much off his own inside offesive game, he can still have a effective role in our offense. I think the lack of defense is why I have a hard time co-signing this deal. Rahim wouldnt have given us anything on that side of the floor either but he would have probably averaged 16-18ppg. Jackson at best may average 9ppg. And we are still left with Collins as our best defensive post player. I think that once we didnt acquire an offseive guy like Reef, we should have immediately turned our focus to interior defense. And try to pick up trwo good interior defenders this off season. As far as everybody questioning the draft pick of Thorn, I actually think Ed Stenfanski is in charge of those decisions. May was gone, Diogu was gone, so who was really left that filled our need. Warrick was a risk cause he didnt have a natural position, Grtanger is a bit of a tweener as well, so size was avaible just not the type we needed.
I think Nets should go after Magloire. He was an allstar 2 years back and would fit right in; who is the starting and backup center for Nets?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobimel:</div><div class="quote_post">This may be a huge blow, but don't be so excited about us not making the playoffs. Chicago: DOWN(they're gonna lose either Chandler or Curry, and may have lost Duhon to Toronto) The east may have improved but not by a lot, and the facts are, in the teams that threaten a playoff spot most to us, haven't improved.</div> I agree with you that the Nets will still make the playoffs, but there's no chance the Bulls will lose either Chanlder or Curry, they are both staying in Chi-town for the long haul. I also with agree with everyone else that it's terrible for Shareef, he was taking a pay cut to be with the Nets, now he's going to make less money for another team. I hope our good bud in NY Thomas engineers some sort of sign and trade for SAR, that would teach the Nets, but in an article I read the Knicks aren't in the midst of things. He'll probably sign with the Spurs or something. This is good news for Philly though, who know I think is the better team and can take the Atlantic. Bottom line is Nets are still solid, but you can't put them among the ranks of Detroit, Indiana, and Miami without SAR, Marc Jackson just does not cut it..
