That's why I'm not a huge fan of Brook Lopez, love Jerryd Bayless and am not upset at all about Ryan Anderson.

Agree 100%. Passing on Bayless (even though I'm basically just going off of what I remember from him in HS) wasn't smart.

All year everyone bitched about needing a shooter, so the Nets take the best one available and now everyone is crying.

This guy can get his shot off over anybody and if he is open he drains them.

He also shot 87% from the line and averaged 10 RPG. That's two more than Lopez.

Is that why he shot 8% worse than Anderson from three?

The last line is even more meaningful because they played in the same conference.

    Yeah. He's a good player.

He fits what the Nets need.

Now they need to add some defense. Kyle Weaver would be a nice choice.

First of all, it's as plain as day that the Nets are nowhere near finished constructing this roster. They now have 7 players 6'9" and over, 8 if you include Diop. At least one of those players will be traded, probably two.

But if you look at the common denominator, it is all toward finding 4s and 5s that can spread the floor and SHOOT, presumably because the team's two best players and playmakers are slashing guards who could benefit from more open space near the basket or who could create good shots for guys like Yi and Anderson if their large defenders don't follow them out. The Nets were almost entirely a pick and roll/pick and pop team last year with a lot of secondary drives created first by the swing of the ball off high pick and rolls. The problem was the team only had one player who could roll (Boone) and only one who could pop (Krstic, who was very disappointing with his shot until late in the year). But just as Carter was the biggest factor in getting Mikki Moore a nice contract two years ago, he and Harris will do the same for guys like Yi, Lopez, and Anderson (as well as Krstic, if he returns to form).

I looked at clips of Ryan Anderson earlier today and studied his stats, and he is so fluid looking a shooter that I think he will be a GREAT addition to the team, possibly having more immediate impact than Lopez. Just imagine that Anderson will take all of Boki's minutes. He is noticeably bigger and more physical, enough to play the 4, and you have to believe that's a major upgrade. His stats and shot charts, even from the free throw line, indicate he will do a terrific job of opening space for Carter/Harris off drives and postups. The Nets will be able to play 48 minutes, if they choose to, with shooters at every position. That's something they haven't been able to do in . . . God knows when. Long before I started watching them intently.

If that's the frontline, the Nets better score 120 points.

Doesn't Fraschilla focus on Euro prospects? Thanks, but I think I'll stick with my own two eyes when it comes to evaluating college talent.
