    Brook Lopez isn't anything soft
    </div>
    Your right he's not. But he's also not a great shot blocker, and when your constantly having some athletic stud driving to the basket on you, your team better have a great shotblocker or else it's gonna be a long night of foul trouble. Brook Lopez strikes me more as a good man to man defender, which we did need badly at the 5 spot.
    </div>
    Post defense and toughness isn't all about blocking shots. We need guys that are smart positional team defenders that will take CHARGES!!! Standing in there and taking a charge is a sign of toughness. That's what this team lacked in the last half of the season.

    If we can get a lot of these young big guys to buy into the importance of that this team could be surprisingly good defensively. They have the length at every position.

    If Ryan can truly play like KVH, which I see the comparisons, then Devin will have some familiarity with how to play with a guy like that.

    CDR reminds me of Jefferson when he was a rookie. I think he can have a similar impact off the bench.

    We might actually have a KVH and Jefferson type player coming off the bench next season.

    I think that both might be better than the originals, but CDR is far tougher and much more deceptive a scorer than Jefferson ever will be.

    But I agree that Devin (and Vince and Marcus for that matter) will have no problem finding him on the perimeter. I guess Vince would be great in setting screens and

    his draw should help Ryan get floor space.

    Ryan and Yi are an interesting tandem also.

    If you're driving, I'm standing on the roof yelling and whipping my Tshirt above my head!

    ****ing awesome draft pick.

    I'll admit that I don't know too much about other players (ie. a lot of people seems to be mentioning Darrell Arthur, etc), but what I do know is that Ryan Anderson IS good AND definitely fills a need on the Nets. At the very least, he's a smart, hustling, dead-eye shooter, and at best he's a multi-talented scorer from deep, the wings, and in the post.

    Wooo **** yeah! I now also don't have to worry about not watching him at Cal (after watching him develop for 2 years). Sorry Boki, your days are numbered.

    I too like this pick alot, and wouldn't be surprised if he is the most productive rookie for the nets. Think about it for a second, it will be difficult for lopez to score and get used to the greater talent in the nba. They will be more athletic and much quicker than in college. For Anderson he will primary be used to shoot the 3's on the pick and pops. If you see his videos he shoots all his 3's 5 or 6 feet past the college 3 pt line. He does remind me of KVH from the outside. I think he's tougher on the inside, and i'm sure his defense is a bit better. This was an excellen0t pick for the nets!

    Now for those of you who never heard of him therefore he sucks, don't feel bad when your wrong about this one. Cause most of the scouts in H.S. missed him as well. And, all the draftnicks missed him as well. Therefore they thought he suckes too. He could be the sleeper of the draft. and, again i believe he will be the most productive net rookie. Listen to what Brook Lopez says about him. He knows cause he's faced him. Check out his scoring against big name schools where he scores 36, 33, and 30 pts. Check out what people who watch Cal play, and they all say he could have been even better if some of the big men on Cal showed up every night.

    I believe this guy is the real deal, and another example why us nets fans are extremely lucky to have Rod Thorn in charge.

    oh yeah, go nets!!
