The only guys we have with a lower USG% are Vonleh, Connaughton, and Davis. Yet he's 5th on the team in scoring, making only 10.7 points/game. He's ~two 3PA less than what CJ takes per game. If he takes just two more, he'll likely be scoring closer to 14PPG. This is why he's going to have a lot of interest by other teams. Especially since shooting is a highly valued commodity among GMs and coaches. Especially to teams that would start him. I'd add that he's also a draft pick that's panned out decently well. But you may get your wish should NO trade him.
As the article points out, Crabbe would be a "cheap option" if indeed Porter and KCP demand $25 mil/season (neglecting the kicker, of course).
Because that doesn't improve our team. Crabbe is better than a salary dump but I've defended him so many times this will probably be the last time I do it.
Yeah it should be. You're in the minority here. ESPECIALLY since the #22, IMHO, will probably be a better player than Crabbe. Screw 44% when you're not aggressive.
are you kidding me? I'd take the 22nd (and capspace I assume) for Crabbe in a friggin heartbeat, anyone who would not has some "issues" IMO, it would be a friggin dream trade and simply won't happen, but we can hope
Malachi Richardson Bobby Portis Jordan Adams Mason Plumlee Fab Melo Kenneth Faried Elliot Williams Víctor Claver Courtney Lee It could be argued that Crabbe is better than any 22nd pick in the last 10 years. Only Lee/Faried/Plums are at is level.
Crabbe is good at 1 thing. You can't name another without being a Homer at best, a liar at worst. He does nothing but shoot standstill jumpers and he only does that less than 2x per game. He's not earning that cheddar. Let someone else pay him.
Plums Fried Lee All better IMO. Also, who gives a crap what happened in the past? That 4th 1St round pick could help us get PG or trade up for a lottery pick. If Crabbe helps us get into the lottery then what?
You say this like shooting isnt the most coveted quality in the league right now. Just wait until you see the contract 33 year old JJ Redick gets.
Olshey has mentioned Crabbe every time the core of his team has been discussed in the past year, right after dame, CJ, and now Nurk. He never mentions Meyers. Doesn't mention Turner either. It could be to drum up interest in Crabbe, but the more realistic scenario is that the team sees and appreciates his value more than some of you on this board do. Thank god.
I just told you that I don't give a damn about the past. It means nothing to me. Tony Parker was selected with the 25th pick. Manu Ginobili and Draymond Green were second-rounders. Using the last number 22 picks to gauge this one doesn't make sense IMO. You have to use all the picks that came after the 22nd one as well. The bottom line is I as well as probably most in the Forum would love that deal. We could fill a position of need with a solid player if we pick correctly. Or we could package that pick up and get into the lottery. I would much rather do that then continue to overpay Allen Crabbe.
Sure and if i were to take all the picks 22-> from the last ten years, i could almost guarentee that < 20% (maybe even less than 10%) of them are still in the league. Whats your point? You're picking out 2-3 players out of hundreds
That's one way to think about it. Another way would be that he doesn't want to disparage Crabbe so he can try to trade him. Also, he's never said one thing about trading Meyers Leonard (link?) And, you've only heard rumors (nothing concrete) about trading Evan Turner Aminu, Davis, et all. Did you feel like he was trading Plums? I knew he was going to have to decide whether or not to pay him in free agency but when he was actually traded that came out of left field for all of us. NO doesn't say who he's going to trade. When has he done that save Festus?
My point is that the 22 is more valuable than Crabbe in my opinion. Do you think that he's more valuable? Cuz I certainly don't. Crabbe is a one trick pony who makes WAY too much for his role on the team. All Season, that sixth man spot was just waiting for him to take control of it and he never did...
