When talking about probabilities, the past matters. And those handful of names you mentioned only helps my point.
Agreed that thread title should have a question mark at the end of it, or should otherwise be changed.
Great... if someone was to give us the 22nd for Crabbe straight up, I would think about it. I'm just attacking the thought that somehow Turner is more valuable than Crabbe. Also, you said that #22 by itself (not taking anything else in consideration, like moving up, his contract, etc) was probably better than Crabbe, and i don't agree with that.
When you have the 22nd pick, you have the ability to choose any of the players left. Don't come at me with that: "The last 10 years the 22nd pick was" stuff without considering all the players that were picked and became great players after the 22nd pick. Naming only the 22s simply fits a false narrative.
Okay, so now you're making things up because I never said that Turner was more valuable than crap er.. Crabbe. That's a strawman you can argue with someone else about. And I did mention the fact that with the 22 we could move up into the lottery (which is the express reason why I would do it) You're quoting them but are you reading my posts?
It only matters when you don't leave out every single player that came after the 22nd pick. When you name only the 22nd picks that leaves out a whole selection of players that could have been drafted at the 22. We could have had Kenneth Faried at the 21 but chose Smith instead.
Now you're off on some tangent. I don't even know what the hell you're talking about here. It's not making sense and the analogy is simply a poor one. I'd much rather have: 15, 20, 22, 26 than 15, 20, 26, and Crabbe's bloated contract.
Sorry for the confusion, other posters, and in other threads, contend that Turner is better than Crabbe. Now, on your part, you said: "ESPECIALLY since the #22, IMHO, will probably be a better player than Crabbe."
It makes about as much sense as you saying "don't ignore all those great players drafted after 22, unless they washed out, then who gives a damn." As for the second part, agree to disagree.
I think it's really silly that people in here wouldn't want to trade a reticent, SOFT, bloated contract having, fake 3&D guy for another pick in this deep ass draft.
It's hard to debate with someone when they continue to put words in your mouth that you know you didn't say. Bottom line I cannot wait until Allen Crabbe is off this team.
We have four guys we wouldn't have made the playoffs without. Crabbe is one of them. If you can't see or appreciate that, you are a HATER. Just picture last years second unit without Crabbe. Picturing it? Thank you.
The only reason to trade Crabbe for a low first rounder is as part of a 3-way trade to clear cap space because the team sending us the player we want (e.g. Paul George) wants cap space in return. Otherwise he's a contributing player. Remember, (a) it's Paul Allen's money, not yours, and (b) it's not like clearing cap space is going to get us a free agent of any interest. Now, if we're talking pick in the low teens, I'm more interested.
You LITERALLY told me not to ignore all the great players drafted after 22. I did consider them, but I also considered the ones that washed out. Guess which group is bigger?
And you literally said "I don't give a damn about the past" before going on and naming specific players...from the past. But only the successful ones. And then you want to talk to me about "fitting a narrative?" Naw.
IMO, we have ONE (1) guy we wouldn't have made the playoffs without....Jusuf Nurkic. Without him, this team was 1/2 game out of the #7 Lottery position.
Don't use the word out of context. No one's hating on Crabbe. He's just a one-dimensional player who I can't wait to see gone. I could give a fuck less what he did last year because it wasn't enough to earn his check!! And newsflash: We got to the playoffs because of one man only. And no, that man is not Damian Lillard...
If you can do AC for 22 or 27 you do it in a heartbeat. That opens up our full, $8M MLE. At 15, you likely take Jackson, who replaces AC, then use the savings to sign a PF like Amir Johnson. If the Knicks really value Crabbe then I'd be trying to trade AC for O'Quinn+#45, attaching Meyers as well if possible.
I had to bring those players up because you left them out. You only cared about number 22 picks. There's dozens of pics after that. You're not making sense... Especially when you're defending Allen Crabbe of all people... So now I'm just done.
