He's the perfect fit with Devin Harris. Look how open Dirk is when Harris kicks it back to him. It would be nice to have a three point threat when that happens.

This would be a great trade for us. One of the biggest detriments this season has been our bench scoring, and Miller would solve that problem easily. Here he would be used in a similar fashion to Manu Ginobili and would be a 6th man of the year quality player. Harris is a really good young PG. With Swat and Swift providing energy off the Bench with Miller and Marcus we would have one of the best if not the best second units in the league.

While Harris would be a drop off at PG this season, he will be an improvement from Jkidd in the coming seasons. These trades make us younger, deeper and give us more flexibility with the cap. I don't think that we should trade Vince this season...I won't kill Thorn if Jermaine O'neal is healthy and we trade for him but I'd like a half season to see what this lineup could do.

    PG: Devon Harris, Marcus Williams
    SG: Vince Carter, Mike Miller
    SF: Richard Jefferson, Deaven George
    PF: Nenad Krstic, Sean Williams
C: Josh Boone, Stromile Swift, Diop

That looks like a very good team to me.

that is not a very good team, it a start at what could become a good team.

that lineup is still .500 and spells of a 1st rd or 2nd rd exit in the eastern confernce playoffs

whats sad about the east is that because there are so many bad teams you could still be a playoff team with a losing record! just pathetic

    Two possible scenarios.

    NJ-Mem-Ind

NJ out: Magloire, Nachbar, M. Williams, 2nd rd pick, $3mm cash
    NJ in: Miller, Lowry

    Mem out: Miller, Lowry
Mem in: Magloire, Nachbar, Diogu, NJ 2nd rd pick

    Indy out: Diogu
    Indy in: M. Williams

    NJ-Mem-Clips

NJ out: Magloire, Nachbar, M. Williams, 2nd rd pick
    NJ in: Miller, Lowry

Mem out: Miller, Lowry, Cardinal, 2nd rd pick
Mem in: Cassell, Magloire, Nachbar, NJ 2nd rd pick

    Clips out: Cassell
Clips in: M. Williams, Cardinal, Mem 2nd rd pick, $3mm cash

In the first scenario Memphis gets out of Millers contract and gets a big for Lowry, Indy gets a pg in Williams. In the 2nd scenario the Clips get their pg in Williams but they have to take on Cardinal and Memphis gets out of Cardinal's deal.

Let's just have Thron and Kinki go over to Memphis and have a beer with Chris "house-cleaning" Wallace. I heard that's how Mitch got Pau.

those deals make sense for memphis and the nets, but i dont see it workin out for the other teams

i mean idk if the pacers are lookin to movie an expiring contract in Diogu for marcus williams

and for the clips im not sure if they want to take on any salary, thats what so difficult about gettin a 3 team trade done

Both Indy and the Clips need a pg for the future and both have been interested in Marcus.

Indy one I think is more feasible, but I'm not sure if Memphis does any deal that doesn't get rid of Cardinal's contract. That's why i came up with the Clip one. Depends how desperate they are if they would want Cardinal's deal, but I include cash from the Nets to Clips (just realized I forgot to put that in the post). Since the Nets save cash this year on the Kidd trade I figured they could send the $3mm to help with Cardinal.

If a post-Kidd trade of either Carter or Jefferson is contemplated, the Nets would be stupid if it weren't Jefferson. His value right now, with his career year in scoring and him finally healthy, is as high as it will ever be. Trade him before people find out how much of his success was due to leaking out early and having Kidd rebound the ball, dribble once, and fire ahead so he could go one on one to get a basket or a foul. Without Kidd, RJ's value is going to plummet pretty fast, partly because his morale will suffer at not getting the same kind of early offense opportunities

On the other hand, Vince's value could only go up from its current abysmal state because of his injury/poor performance the first half of the season. Furthermore, Carter is much more capable than Jefferson of producing at his customary level without Kidd simply because Kidd's and Carter's games were never very complimentary to begin with.

yes, I wanted Miller on our team with Kidd...I'll take him without Kidd too. this would be a very good deal. A big improvment. There's no need for Mags at all anymore, and Miller is a step up from Boki. I really hope this goes through...

Harris is good on the break. Speed demon. Now that the team is younger I don't see them turning into a halfcourt offense. Not with players like Sean, Boone, and Swift upfront. I think Carter is still needed in the halfcourt, but I don't see this trade as having that big of an impact on the style the team will try to play.

Regardless of whether we have Kidd or Harris we should pursue this deal...throw in a first if we have to. Miller could be an amazing 6th man and potential replacement for Carter if he's moved in the offseason. His contract is reasonable and honestly with our bigs ability in the paint and RJ's ability to drive Miller could be deadly from the perimeter.

So, now we want Miller? I'm confused, as to whether the Nets are going to rebuild or not. There's talks about dealing Carter, so what is the point of acquiring Miller? He and Jefferson won't get the team anywhere. Then again neither will Carter, especially if the Raps game was any indication as to what we can expect from him.

If we trade for Miller, and then trade away Jefferson for someone like...I don't know...maybe Travis Outlaw!!, I'd be a very, very, very happy man.

    I don't think its a rebuild...more like a remodel.
Kidd is gonna be 35 in a month and his window is closing...however everybody else on the Nets still have large windows of oppurtunites and plenty of gas in the tank with the exception of possibly Carter(who I see us dealing this offseason)

    Harris is 24
    Marcus is 22
    Swat is 21
    Boone is 23
    Nenad is 24
    RJ is 27
    Miller is 27
    Swift is 28
    Maurice Ager is 24

Carter would be are oldest player at 31

I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. Unfortunately given how much the eastern conference sucks we are going to be a playoff team...making it hard to rebuild. I think we go balls out this year and then take advantage of flexibilty this offseason. Most likely by trading Vince, RJ or both.
