I thought he was gonna be a starter when he signed, didn't expect this until I saw his role on the team.

What a waste of a $4m contract we could have used in a trade to grab a shooter [IMG]

The transactions --Magloire and Murry-- were made almost simultaneously.

Maybe I am being a conspiracy theorist, but yesterday, Chad Ford reported in his chat that the Pistons were talking to the Nets about Magloire. Magloire made $4 million and Murray made $1.8 million. That couldnt work.

Murray is in very similar circumstances as Magloire. He hasnt played in TWO MONTHS because of the development of the rookies Aflallo and Stuckey. Magloire hasnt played much because of the development of Williams and Boone.

Waivers take 48 hours. That would mean Sunday, the day before the Nets next practice.

And Frank hinted that the Nets may go after a perimeter player. "If down the road we want to bring in a perimeter player, we have a roster spot," Frank said.

And by the way, if this "exchange" isnt just a conspiracy theory but is real, the Nets save some cap space. The Nets bought out the rest of Magloire's contact, probably $1 million on the remaining #1.3 million (1/3 of $4 million). If he signs with another team, their cap exposure will be reduced by whatever Magloire gets from that team. SImilarly, for Murray. Why is that important? It isn't.

Isn't this illegal by NBA rules or something? Like some loophole to make a trade after the deadline. Then again, what's to stop the waived players to sign with another team..

Risky. Whose to say someone w/ a small TE or a bit under the cap doesn't take a chance on him (Flip) the rest of the year?

This was mildly random, and sort of out of nowhere. I mean, we couldn't even get a 1st round pick outta this?

    C'mooon</div>

I said it from day 1: Magloire is useless. He has lost any skill he had. He can't handle the ball, can't score, can't catch, can't move. The only thing he can do is rebound. He is a liability in every other facet of the game.

I was right about McInnis, I was right about Marc Jackson, I was right about Chris Childs, and now I am right about Magloire.

I know a mistake when I see one.

I think everyone hated on Magloire way too much. The guy was doing a great job. Look at some of his games, 4 rebounds in 10 minutes. 7/7 in 15. 8/8 in 20. He was doing a great job. He'd post up numbers like these and then not play for like 8 games. It's bullshit. He should played much more than he did.

Other than Frank, I don't think anyone hated him. One game he gets to play, next 5 games he's buried at the end of the bench. It's impossible to catch rhythm that way. What was Coach Frank's excuse? Matchup problems? I love how he said "We're saving him for the playoffs." What good is he in the playoffs if he hasn't played consistently during the season? He'd be good for 6 fouls, and that's about it.

    LOL

Though to be fair, Collins has scored more points, grabbed more boards for the Grizzles than Swift has for the Nets.

And we all know about Collins' lack of production.

hey Furnace, you were correct....i wanted to believe the hype, that the Nets knew what they were doing, not....but seriously, it might have worked except Magloire did not come into camp in shape....sure it was reported that he was working hard, but it was too late....i watched him up close in preseason vs Big Baby, he was totalling embarassed by BB, it was obvious then that this was not going to work....with all that wingspan, in Oct and Nov he couldn't get enough lift to get the ball over the rim from point blank range
