AL said he would have to do something about his ONE rebound after last game. We will have to see. </div>

Well, he said he was going to correct his 4-21 shooting against the Cavs, and showed us 13-19 against L.A. [IMG]

FWIW Al averaged 7.5 rebounds in January when he was playing pretty much exclusively PF. Not a great number but its respectable, especially considering he played with Foster and JO getting big minutes.

While respectable, that's a little low for this team. We don't have big guys like Foster and JO (who average appx. 9 and 10 rpg), so would think somewhere close to double digits is needed.

Even if both AB (avg 9 rpg) and AL got 10 rebs each, I think we'd still be outrebounded. If we could get AK-47, then that should even things up more. You'd think he should be able to get numbers close to AB if given the opportunity.

If Pietrus can keep up his excellent defensive rebounding, I'd be okay with Biedrins and Harrington averaging less than double-digit rebounding numbers.

    Look at Shawn Marion...

Defensive rebounds are called TEAM rebounds for a reason. It doesn't matter who gets them; it only matters that they are gotten.

Yeah, well I rather have Shawn Marion than anyone we have at SF or PF. The guy can play so many posititions, score, rebound in double digits and play D. He'd be perfect for Nellie ball.

I'm glad to have MP, but would take Marion in a heartbeat.

Damnit, I real nervous about tonight's game. Maybe it's because if we win, then it's not like we win something. Don't get me wrong, a win is very important tonight and gets the team a big confidence boost, especially having new players on the team. But it would just suck awful if we lose. I couldn't stand that [IMG].

True, but in the warriors offense few guys stay back to worry about defensive rebounds or they're out of position because of the shifting zones. Plus, a lot of perimeter players all want to leak out and run rather than stay back and crash the glass. Something has to explain why in this system we tend to give up more offensive rebounds to the other team than normal. One of it lack of size/strength to gain position. I think zone defense is also part of it. The other is the fact we're not team rebounding, only a few guys are actively providing box outs or hustling things down. Instead of having strong rebounders at every position with both size, weight and length, we're having to do everything with sheer hustle and quickness. That's mostly guys like Biedrins, Pietrus, and Barnes. Nothing about their game is about power or strong post positioning against heavy weight players.

I like Marion, but if we're paying dollar for impact, he's hard to read. I think the Suns will have a hard time trying to make him fit along with Marion, Nash, the other three starters, + a deep bench. Marion is one of those guys that is a great player to have for both offense and defense because he is very long, athletic, and strong for his size. But like any other player like him or AK47 we have to figure out how they can fit within a team budget and how teams can set them up in a position to win. Usually for that much dough, teams want a guy that is a pure setup player and is absolutely trustworthy down the stretch.

I still think if we keep adding strong starting players at every position and they are winning matchups, we'll do well. But I hope we find a true anchor or at least a winning F/C combo a la Sheed/Big Ben + a go-to scorer from anywhere leading the charge. I'm hoping Baron Davis finds the smart shots and milks the midrange game because he has that size/leg strength to work the mid-post against smaller guards and do the Sam Cassell thing. The only thing he doesn't do well is knock down the free throws should he get fouled on the wrist.

Its possible that he could average 10 rebounds per game but don't get your hopes up, the most hes averaged for a season is 7.0. I think he could definitely average above that starting on our team with a lot of shots and not many other guys to get boards but I would say more like 7.5-8.5 rpg at most. Respectable but we'll still need a lot of help.

Agree, we really need this game but if we lose it will be devastating.

No RJ, No Krstic, VC was playing sub-par recently, we better win.

The Nets are a running team too and it's one thing they have that we don't have is patience/saavy in executing plays in the half court (when they need to). Now we're still a team that's trying to find out if they have chemistry and also learn the new system. That's tough.

Plus, like REREM mentioned, we're not playing with a true power forward or center. We have to win with sheer quickness or hustle because we got no ability to body up when their strong, athletic guy goes down the middle or posts us up. The zone is also no good if they got shooters or they can easily penetrate it or exploit the overhelp for cheap foul calls.

After Vince's horrible effort against the Kings, look for him to play great tonight to bounce back.

If the referees are giving him "Kobe calls" all night long I could believe that would happen.

Actually Wade and Lebron get more calls than Kobe. And Vince doesn't get as much calls as them.

I just dont see pietrus being able guard VC, im just hoping AZ gets more minutes or atleast gets the ball when hes in the game. I dont see Baron being a big impact with Kidd on him, unless he decides to pass instead of gun, if Adams starts hes another great defender. I can see this coming down to which coach wants it more, and Frank hasnt coached great this season it could go either way.

Dammit, I can't believe they are showing the NHL All Star game over the Warriors on TSN. Luckily they will join the game in progress.

I think Barnes is playing tonight. That means a sure win for the team!

Dude -- this is UGLY basketball. Mikki Moore is well on his way to a career night. Warriors are going all 1-on-1. The only GS player who I like right now is Biedrins. Everyone else needs to get their head out of their ass.
