Now you have an understanding and full appreciation of the phrase "Young and dumb, and full of....well, you know the rest"

From my six decades of observation, the things that stand out to me are lack of personal responsibility on both the parents and the children. Lots of shitty , selfish parents that put nothing into their children, and a system that teaches them to be goofy, rather than conform to any social norm.

Well, perhaps this is why it takes a lifetime and we still can't get there.

Yeah, this and more need to be studied, answers found. This should not be examined with the political process, better done by competent analysts charged with finding understanding first. But I fear, we will press forward with punishment for this kid, like we have with the others. What do they have in common and what are the corrections needed, and how do we protect the children we have herded into the Killing zones.

I'm guessing you willingly sent your children to public school killing zones though right? If this is your take on a school property...why would you do that? You probably went to a public school yourself without having a gun pointed at you....like most of us..

It has been more than 30 years since my youngest was in a public school. I really do not remember school shooting in that era or before.
All though I and I suppose many other, had semiautomatic weapons with 30 round magazines further back than this. So I did not worry.

Back when I went to school, it was not unusually at all to go to school with a weapon in the car while parking it at school. To go hunting directly after school. Guns were a normal part of our lives, a useful tool. Now when I entered the Navy, I found in Boot Camp, that the society I came from, had to be quite different than the one most of my Company had lived in. All but one other was from either Chicago or New York City.
They did not know squat about guns, could not swim, and the list is long. The other fellow and I teamed up rather quickly.

Well look at this!!! These Killing zone were created in the 90s, after my kids had completed their schooling and just before this rash of school shootings began!!! Holy hell! Does that give you any clues?

    http://lawcenter.giffords.org/gun-laws/policy-areas/guns-in-public/guns-in-schools/

"Federal and state lawsensuring that schools are gun-free zones have helped make K–12 schools even safer, significantly reducing gun violence in these places. School-associated student homicide rates decreased after the federal laws restricting guns within 1,000 feet of schools were adopted in the early 1990s,8 and fewer students are carrying guns.9"

Back when kids packed at school, no one in there right or screwed up mind, would go to school with the intention of shooting the place up.
Too damn dangerous! The probability for success, too damn low.

The cause of society's ills is permissiveness. We need to clean up permissiveness. Zero tolerance. The place to start is at the root of modern American culture, message boards.

You packed a gun to school? And you think that is something that should happen today?

Mass School shootings begin after the implementation of gun free zone at Schools, beginning in the 90's.
With this, we created the Killing zone and herd the kid in. Unprotected.

"Other prominent school shootings in the United States:

    • December 2012: Adam Lanza, 20, gunned down 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., before killing himself.

    • February 2008: Shooter Steven Kazmierczak, 27, enters a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University, and kills five students and wounds 18 others before taking his own life.

    • April 2007: Seung Hui Cho, a 23-year-old student, went on a shooting spree at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., killing 32 people, before killing himself. It was the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history.

    • October 2006: Milk truck driver Charles C. Roberts, 32, enters a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Nickel Mines, Pa., and isolates the female students in the classroom before methodically executing them. He kills five girls and wounds several more. Roberts then commits suicide.

    • March 2005: Sixteen-year-old Jeff Weise killed his grandfather and a companion of his grandfather's, then headed to a high school on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota. He killed five students, a teacher and a security guard before taking his own life.

    • April 1999: Students Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, opened fire at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo. They killed 12 students and one teacher and wounded more than 20 others before killing themselves in the school's library.

    • August 1966: Charles Joseph Whitman, a former U.S. Marine, shot and killed 16 people from a university tower at the University of Texas in Austin before being shot by police."

Automatic weapons have been available much longer than the Killing Zones.

Even the states with the most pro gun gun laws are not going to allow kids to carry guns to school. Never going to happen.

    This is what you posted.

    I asked you packed what.

If you are talking about guns I'd like to point out that federal law prevents people under 18yrs old from owning a handgun. So that leaves rifles and shotguns. Which is only allowed to be owned by people under 18yrs old in 30 states.

If you aren't talking about guns then I'm not sure what a kid could pack that would prevent a school shooting.

    Probably not.
But since we have disarmed the little darlings, and created the Killing zones to herd them into, We could arm the school personnel and perhaps even add a cop or two on sight.

It is such a shame and a waste to leave the little darlings in the killing zone, penned and ready for the nut job to come fulfill his online game fantasy. Or just waste them because he is pissed, he is out in the cold now.
