This season is just torture. Terrible decision making on the court down the stretch. I can't take it.
The Nets were up by like 7 or 9 at one point and it was SO OBVIOUS the Warriors were going to start jacking up 3's to get back in the game and for some reason the Nets seemed to be shocked by it. Haven't they ever seen the Warriors play? Were they expecting the Warriors to set up a play and run the clock down? Then late in the game Jefferson, Kidd and Wright all missed jumpers that could have extended the lead or at another point given the lead. But instead bricks. LOL. And when they scored they let the Warriors immediately run the court for a quick layup or end up having to foul. Don't they scout these teams?

When we have a lead, we always shoot jumpers even though it was pounding it down low that got us there. That was a push off by Ellis. Malik Allen plays 2 ****ing minutes and let's Harrignton start a streak. Awesome game if we were aiming for Micheal Beasley.
Why Malik was in the game I have no idea, I'm not gonna blame Vince for the loss, I think there are enough people on this board doing that, and you also have Magic and Chuck throwing him under the bus.

That was, in fact, quite a stupid move on his part. What you do throughout a game is criticize the entire team starting in the 1st quarter, saying this team sucks, the players sucks, Lawrence Frank sucks, there's no way we're going to win, etc. Not at all alike.
Wow very strange and frustrating game for both teams. I have no problem with hack-a-boone (granted I'm a Warrior fan). If a guy shoots 34% from the FT line it would be dumb not to foul him and make him earn it. Plus the whole thing backfired since he shot 6-11 in that stretch, which is essentially allowing NJ to shoot over 50% every time down the court without being defended. It gave NJ a ton of energy after they looked lethargic and everyone but VC was horrible. Its to be expected in a Nellie game. If you're mentally weak and/or have a weakness that Nellie can take advantage of he will find a way to eat you alive (go ask Dirk Nowitzki and Nash the last few times the W's played them). Boone stepped up and hit his FTs. Props to him. Both teams were pretty horrible for most of the night. The Warriors were horrible shooting the ball despite equally bad defense by the Nets. The Law of Averages says that eventually they will get their numbers, and they did in the form of a 22-0 run. Nellie's hack a boon probably saved their legs for the 4th Q a bit too since they were clearly tired and lacking in energy. RJ had one of the quietest 34 pt/9 ast nights I've ever seen. VC was awesome in the first half but dropped off after being elbowed in the face. Kidd wasn't too spectacular though definitely not bad. Baron had a pretty unspectacular triple double. Seemed like he had a decent game, at best, but was trying to show up Kidd too much on national TV (never seen Baron do that before ). Monta was fantastic, 39 points with no 3 pointers attempted is pretty amazing. He hit his FTs very well and when the mid-range game is going hes basically unstoppable. Also did a good job of using his quickness to keep Kidd out of the paint. Harrington went nuts there at the right time, Jackson was shit again forcing a ton of crappy shots when he should be looking to pass.
I also don't see any problem with Hack-A-Boone (although I'm also a Warriors fan). The Ws excell when other teams try to match up with them, not the other way around, so Nellie was just trying to get Boone out of the game since the Warriors don't really have anyone to match up with him. Nelson did the same thing to Wallace when they played Chicago, only that time he did it in the second quarter. I am glad for the kid that he hit his free throws because he is a good prospect and this could have killed his confidence and, imo, really hurt his development. I also give Frank alot of credit for leaving him out there. It takes balls to leave a 34% shooter on the floor knowing he's going straight back to the line. I don't think the example of going for a 2 point conversion and an onside kick is a good one. I think a better analogy would be if a team has a crap cornerback, consistently going deep on him. It is a weakness on the opposing team and it's the coach's job to exploit it. As far as it not being basketball, I don't think that's true at all. Free throws are, imo, the most important part of the game and I really think it is ridiculous that a professional basketball cannot make at least 80% of his free throws. It truly amazes me. They are the easiest shots in the game and should be a reflex to shoot accurately (being a Ws fan this is a sore spot for me, I've never seen a team give away so many games at the line).

If it was an easy skill to gain then players would have higher percentages. Look at Shaq or Wilt Chamberlain both widely considered to be two of the best players in the history of the game or in Wilt's case maybe the best ever and they both struggled from the FT line with about 50% shooting. Looking at Boone's mechanics you'd think he's a good free throw shooter...he sets properly, bends at the knees and has the correct follow through. He just can't hit.
Really forgot about this but Monta Ellis got a career high last night so that's another player to the list of 'random superstars'.
