<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Clif25:</div><div class="quote_post">The defense when Damp is on the court is usually very good, or at least better than when he's not on the court. So i don't think numbers have much to do with the impact Damp might have on a game.

However i wouldn't get mad at Damp for not putting up great numbers. The offense that the Warriors were using didn't help Dampier at all. The perimeter players took about 6-7 seconds to get the ball passed half court, due to some pressure, then there would be about nothing but some dribbles and maybe a pass and nothing would happen until about 9 seconds left on the shot clock. And you can't post up Damp with 9 seconds left on the shot clock. That just doesn't put Damp in a position to succeed.

Also as a big man getting good low post position is a lot of hard work(even though a lot of people don't understand this). And when your perimeter players aren't doing anything but dribble and everyone else is just standing around, you can become very unmotivated to work hard in the post, very quickly.</div>

I think your're right he wasn't getting any touches tonight. They should go to him more, mainly because he's probably their best post option and he plays harder when he does get touches.

The Warriors are inconsistent as far as having a go-to-guy. JRich was really starting to feel it with about 5 minutes left- he scored 8 straight points or something like that. Instead of going to him again, they went away from him, giving it to Cliff and Cheaney. IMO, he should have gotten more looks near the end of teh game.
