Well it appears that Philly is in the mood to deal and I'm sure that's one albatross they'd love to rid themselves of. Aside from Jrue Holliday and their second overall pick I can't think of much I'd like off of that roster and I don't see either being available anytime soon.

I don't get the "green font" comment, but...

I think there've been rumors that Philly might part with #2 if someone took Brand off their hands. The salaries still have to work out, though.

Who would Portland want at #2?

    Favors, Turner, Cousins, Johnson?

Brand has one of the worst contracts in the NBA. He used to be an All-Star but now he's barely a rotation player. The only way Philly will be able to get him off their cap is if they give up the #2 pick.

He probably considers the #2 pick a high pick, where you defined it as low based on sequential position in the number scale.

You do not think that Johnson and Roy can't play off each other at the #2/#3 positions? Heck, you can even consider running the Roy/JJ/Batum trio at the #1-#3 positions - with Roy/JJ handling the ball and Batum defending the opposing #1.

JJ and Roy in the same backcourt - with Batum, Miller or Bayless next to them would be a nightmare to defend for most teams in the NBA.

I think Brand's contract is big, but he's a better player than Juwan Howard and is only 30. Some people have said Brand didn't fit well in Philly's system - he might do pretty well in Nate's scheme.

    14/6 in 30 minutes with a 15.1 PER vs. Howard's 6/4.6 in 22 minutes with a 10.0 PER.

Portland played Howard a lot of games (73) and a lot of minutes in those games.

That was more out of necessity than anything. I don't think we will face that many injuries to our big men this upcoming season.

    At least, I hope not.

Bosh is the only player that can save it for KP as far a player thats on a team that he wont be returning to. Lebron deal couldnt be agreed on yet at Cleveland doesnt know if hes going to resign. Maybe we can get Duncan and Parker as i dont think Parker alone saves it

A Chris Bosh deal couldn't be agreed upon either, he's in the exact same position as Lebron and any sign and trade deal would have to wait until the moratorium is lifted after the first week in July. As for Duncan, that guy is almost certainly going to retire as a Spur and getting him wouldn't exactly do us much good anyway -- he's just about done.

List of players that would save KP's job if he was able to trade for them: LeBron, Mello, Wade, CP3, D-Will, Bosh, Amare, Dwight Howard, Tony Parker (maybe), Kobe, and Kevin Durant.

I can't think of anyone else big enough to be a sure fire way to save his job.

Anyone of these folks would be a huge addition pretty much regardless of who got sent out.

Not a trade but in an effort to eliminate the competition for his job KP is going to sign Jerry West, Steve Kerr and Kiki Vandeweghe to play for the Blazers next year.

Nate becomes overjoyed when he hears this, telling the media that he finally has the players that can play his slow paced style of basketball.

    Win-win!
