Wrong. Right now the President is having to work and protect US without some of his most able advisors and most of his cabinet, because Dems are obstructing just to obstruct, even though they acknowledge they don't have the numbers to prevent confirmations in the long run because, you know, they lost elections on every level from President all the way down to city council members in America's smallest towns. So anything bad that happens is on the Dems, unless and until they GTFO of the way.
I am NOT narrow-minded on this issue. Quite the contrary, I've studied Firearms and the 2nd Amendment for many years now; from hundreds of different perspectives and experts in the field. I'm quite content in my viewpoint, as well as my knowledge on the subject. Automatic weapons are already highly controlled by the government, so it's a non-factor except in war. But I'm sure you already know that. The argument "in the name of progress" has often been used throughout human history to take away a person's fundamental civil rights.
You don't know how right you are about this. I have a friend who works for the air force as a drone pilot. I got him drunk last year when he was visiting, and before he could talk to me about the work he did, he took both of our phones and put them about 100 feet away from us. And I learned some crazy shit.
Somewhat related but tangential......an extreme right wing friend of mine (yes, I do have several extreme right wing friends, odd as that may seem) and I were having a conversation about cell phones about 10 years ago. As he pointed out, if, before cell phones became so ubiquitous, the government had issued an edict that all American citizens were required to wear tracking devices, the country would revolt in unprecedented ways and numbers. But voila! Encourage cell phone technology and use, make them affordable and the next thing you know, most every adult (and far too many children) are falling all over themselves to carry the latest and greatest tracking device literally EVERYWHERE they go! That alone is why I held off getting a cell phone until 4 years ago.....and then only because the world has adjusted itself to that "norm" and there's really no way to get around it without a great deal of effort and inconvenience (plus literally having a full service computer in your pocket is pretty handy). Big Brother truly is watching and listening. Welcome to 21st Century America....... P.S. This is my 2000th post. Don't I get a hug or kiss or some other kind of award from @HCP?????
