Someone in our group has Covid. They were the only one not boosted or recently vaxxed. He just had the J&j also and ignored all my requests to boost up before the trip. Now it's a big mess and we are scrambling to rebook and quarantine. Good news is they don't have to retest after the quarantine period, bad news is they are stuck in a hotel room for 6 days and I have to bite my tongue and not say I told you so. Two others had their flights cancelled and couldn't rebook till Friday. The silver lining is that the weather here is better than PDX.
I will in due time, this is a big learning experience for him. We are, most of us. It was my 20 year old step son so my wife is staying to quarantine with him because it's her kid. He is pretty terrified and the hotel gave a good deal. Thing is, he did not get the booster because of he is scared of needles, so obviously now he has suffering through 6 days of boredom and anxiety instead of 10 minutes of a shot. He lives with his dad and grandparents who are big time antivaxers and are blaming us now. Apparently his dad thinks its suspicious that only his son got Covid, I'm like fuck dude you are so close to getting it and still missed the point completely.
