That play could've been a disaster. It kinda looked like someone in the Yanx' BP left that gate unlocked...and when I first saw the play all I could think of is "please don't let him be hurt".

That definitely could've been a disaster. You also would think the Dodgers could come up with something better than that ridiculous fence.

Yeah, he could have easily got his fingers/hand caught in that damn chain link gate and been lost for the year...and as he was falling I was worried that he'd break his ankle/leg.

I was looking at that play again and I didn't notice before but the BP catcher stopped the gate from going even further...and may have saved Judge's bacon.

Aaron Judge injury spurs Dodger Stadium upgrades

The Yankees hope Aaron Judge will recover from his right toe injury soon, but Dodger Stadium will never be the same.

After the Yankees’ superstar outfielder smashed his foot against concrete on the base of the right-field wall while running into — and through — the chain-link fence, the Dodgers reportedly will take steps to ensure that type of injury does not happen again.

Dodgers team president Stan Kasten told The Athletic the organization plans to reinforce the fence, which burst open upon the 280-pound Judge sprinting into it on Saturday.

Additionally, the Dodgers will add a strip of padding to the concrete after Judge injured his right big toe on the play.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said this weekend he hoped the Dodgers or MLB would look into the issue.

“I think all these places try to do their best to make things as safe as possible,” said Boone, whose Yankees played a second straight game without Judge in the starting lineup on Tuesday. “But to me, it seems like that cement at the bottom could be padded up a little bit.”

This team is way too injury prone to succeed. They get three or four guys back just to have three or four go on the IL. It forces guys that shouldn't be playing everyday to be out there everyday. At this point why pitch to Rizzo and Stanton when the rest of the lineup are barely hitting .200 or are below. 200?

This has been going on for years now.
