"HOMERAID!" "But injuries!" "HOMERAID!" But Kobe will be back! "Homeraid not only quenches your thirst better, it tastes better too, idiot."
I wouldn't guarantee Lopez or anybody else (besides Oden) gets hurt, but if you look at his career, 1 complete season and 4 with 15+ games missed that sort of looks like the way I'd bet.
15 games missed counts for missing the playoffs? I wanna see how this works out. We can go .300 the rest of the way and still have a winning record. We still have 60+ games, so missing 15 is somehow going to drop all 15 games? You truly think this is likely? And the entire "Historical averages don't count for future success" applies right?
it would be unheard of if nobody got injured for at least a few weeks, lopez is as good a guess as anybody else i guess batum, he usually misses a dozen games or so, but i think that wright and claver can step up
I don't know, I'm not a doctor and I don't know what kind of injuries have kept him out - bad back, bad knees, feet, ankles, etc. would make me worry more than arms, shoulders, hands, etc. Who ever said that? Is this from a poster or are you trying to quote the old axiom? If it's the former I don't agree, if the latter then you've actually got it backwards.
Nic is generating a lot of assists in this offense. Wright and Claver might replace part of what he does, but I'm not sure if they have the play making chops.
obviously they would not replicate his game, that would be silly but i think wright would hold his own, and claver might likely be passable in his 10 mpg if needed
Idiocracy reference? BTW, just for clarification, what do you mean when you say the Blazers will be mediocre or average at the end of the season? Are you predicting their season record will be around .500 - or are you saying they are peaking now and will regress later in the season? I can easily imagine them riding this hot start to a winning record and a play-off berth...and then getting blown out in the post season by a team like the Spurs who tend to peak late. When you combine a strong starting 5 playing heavy minutes with a mediocre bench and a so-so coach, it's not unreasonable to worry the team will struggle down the stretch. Injuries and fatigue are facts of NBA life!
I don't know if I've ever seen someone predict an injury to one of our players for no real reason.. Very strange.
Actually, he's had two consecutive complete seasons; '11-'12 was shortened, remember? At this point, it's been over 2.5 years since he last had a significant injury. Of course, that just means he's due...
I predicted that at the beginning of the season. people are having issues with me on it though. I said if they are still playing this well at the break, I would change my opinion.
Ah yeah, sort of forgot about the lockout. Whatever, I never said it would happen, but it wouldn't be unexpected.
