QUOTE (Denny Crane)

It's much more compatible with all the browsers out there. This modification allows you to use a bbcode to embed videos onto your posts from a large list of websites just using this format Invalid Video Link and the mod will automatically recognize where the video comes from (no need for searching codes or allowing html). Also adds a new button on the Quick/Normal Reply and Quick Edit windows for easy access and input, works for the Standard and Rich Text Editors. The list includes: YouTube (www.youtube.com) GoogleVideo (video.google.com) LiveLeak (www.liveleak.com) Veoh (www.veoh.com) GameTrailers (www.gametrailers.com) iFilm (www.ifilm.com) Revver (www.revver.com) BrightCove (www.brightcove.com) MySpaceVideo (vids.myspace.com) CollegeHumor (www.collegehumor.com) vSocial (www.vsocial.com) Guba (www.guba.com) Glumbert (www.glumbert.com)

It looks fantastic Denny. I just have one beef with it: the background for the bits on the right, like Standings, Site Stats, Who's Online etc look a little bit awkward, as if they've just been put there (my opinion). Would it be possible to make them look more integrated, such as this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/chi.../integrated.jpg

Nice, it looks really clean; I'm a fan.
My one idea: On the team home page there's an emphasis on news, with the forum not getting the attention (it's accessable via a link at the top of the page). However I think the emphasis should be placed on the forum, with Nets news being accessable by a link. This is a beef I've had with other sites, where I'm just trying to get to the forum, but get lost once I get to the team page. So maybe that long space could be threads that have new posts? Just my 2 cents

Just my 2 cents

I'm thinking a "members viewing forum" box on the right side, and I definately want to do a "fan club" feature that would show up on both the team and forum page.
Fan club is a rather simple idea, but I think it'd be neat in practice. It's sorta like a "nets fan signup" thread in concept, except there's just a button on the page to "sign up." All the people who sign up are listed in a box like the "who's online" box, even if they're not online. The fan clubs you belong to would show up somewhere under your avatar when you post, on your member page, and wherever else it makes sense.
After we have things going smoothly, I'd add an option for each person in each club to (checkbox or something) receive a pre-game e-mail for each game with the preview and scheduled lineups. Would help to remind people the game's about to start and there's a game thread to be in

It's pretty common on message boards to start a club, and list the members in one's sig. However the bigger the group (say for the sake of argument, "I'm a Nets fan who currently hates the Nets") would completely dominate someones sig. This sounds like a much more organized option.
Would the starting, and maintaing of such groups be in an arbitrary thread? And if so would the group starter have mini-mod abilities over their group, a la personal forum?

We could eliminate all the "join the X team fan club" stickies and use this function instead.
The list of members is displayed on the forum page and on the team page. You can join by clicking a button under the list. You can quit, too.
I got the idea both from the stickies and from looking at members viewing in my favorite forums. Like, I know there's 250 or so Nets posters (guessing at a number, could be a lot bigger), but there's maybe 30 online right now. It'd be nice to see all my "friends'" names in one place on the screen, even when they're not online.

QUOTE (David_Ortiz)

personal forums would be pretty cool. no one posts in my PF on BBF... ingrates...

Personal forums were a disaster for the most part on BBF. It was a LOT of maintenance for the staff to just create and patrol them, made a mess of the forum jump gizmo at the bottom of pages, made the admincp pages load extra slow, and more.
Instead of personal forums, the new S2 has blogs and everyone can have one. It's pretty much the same thing, except only you can start the equivalent of a thread (a blog entry/topic), while the rest of the members can reply/comment on those.
As well, the member pages are very feature rich.
I'm not saying "no, never!" but it's something I'd rather wait on until we see how the other features work out.

I like it. I think this is what a lot of us JBB guys have wanted since day one. It looks good to me. A lot simplier and a lot cleaner

Wow. I picked a good time to rejoin this place. Look good, keep it up. I'll definitely be around more than before.

I want more JBB guys to come back, that would be nice.
