He didn't try and kick out, his leg grazed his helmet which 10 years ago would have ment nothing but in today's game anything done to the QBs head is a penalty. It doesn't have to be intentional for it to be called. In the playoffs personally I think they should throw the rulebook out and let the more physical team be the victor.

Are you seriously talking about a Kingspeed thread right now?

I've always been kind of neutral on the Seahawks. Can't stand Hawks fans or Niners fans really, they're both annoying. Can't pick whether to root for them to win to piss off Niners fans, or root for them to lose to once again shatter the Seahawks fans dreams in what was supposed to be a dream season.

I definitely rooted for the Hawks over the Steelers in 05'.

Would like to see PA finally win a championship and think that excitement would carry over to an even bigger thirst for title for the Blazers.

They pretty much did against the Packers last week. This week the Panthers were especially chippy at the beginning of the game, so I think the refs decided to call the game a little closer. They missed a few calls on both sides. It is what it is.

I hope the refs let them play next week.

I loved the physicality of the packers/niners game last week. Reminded me of the 90s style of football.

That game was extremely physical, but not dirty, which is why I think the refs were letting so much go.

This game had a definite feel at the beginning, and I think the refs saw that and adjusted how they were going to call the game. Carolina was definitely jacked up to be in the playoffs, and they were intense, but they were letting their emotions get the best of them.

All there PF were definitely called for but I didn't watch the game (thanks work!) and unlike the Packers/Niners there isn't a torrent of the game up yet, so I can't for sure say how I think the reffing went. I just know I hate this ticky tack shit thats called especially in the playoffs and my god do I get so horribly pissed off at how inconsistent the refs in the NFL are.
I personally got my wish for the playoffs. The Seahawks/Niners playing each other because your two fan bases HATE each other and the teams do as well. Its been a long while since a playoff game has made me think there would be 3 or 4 fights and a few players kicked out like I think there will be next week.
I want the 90's physical football back, but that could be because my team hasn't been relevant since the late 90's as well lol, and the Niners/Seahawks give the best shot for a glimpse back in time when teams just kicked the shit out of each other all over the field.

Totally agree. I enjoyed that about the Pack-Niners game. It probably almost cost the Niners the game (I give the Pack a ton of credit, as I did in posts last week - they took advantage of the everything the refs gave them while te Niners tried playing mistake-free; penalties or not, being aggressive often wins games).

Let 'em play. Let 'en duke it out. Call the big, glaringly obvious calls, call it both ways, but let 'em play.

Yeah, it's what football used to be. Before it became sissified. Seriously, so many guys are going down to leg injuries and it's only getting worse with the new rules.

Very reminiscent of the Niners/Cowboys rivalry of the 90's. Tons of bad blood. I think the refs are going to be on high alert in that game.

I've been a fan of Pete Carroll's long before he ever became the Seahawks coach.

As a DUCKS FAN, I still enjoyed watching his USC teams, especially the 2005 season. One of the most exciting seasons I've ever seen.

I think a lot of PAC fans liked watching USC represent the PAC 10 and west coast during those years.

I'm sure you were a HUGE Carroll fan when he was coaching the Pats. Kinda like how you left for BE after the 3rd game of the season, right?

This might be why I cannot find myself rooting for the Niners no matter what, except vs Giants/Redskins/Eages I hope you guys slaughter those teams everytime you meet them, but I think they are one of a very few teams that remind me of the physicality i grew up watching every Sunday and thats just fun football to watch.
