Chargers had a bad game offensively till the last 6 or 7 minutes. LT had a stat sheet stuffer today, almost had a hat trick if he had recived a TD lol.The Bears RBs did bad. Both Peterson and Benson couldn't hold onto the ball.

The Chargers had an overall below-average offensive showing (they relied on turnovers on their scoring drives). LT underperformed for most of the game, and if Neal hadn't had the horse-collar tackle LT might not have gotten his rushing TD.

Passing TDs from RBs are always done off trick plays, so I don't give too much importance to them on a career/season achievement-level. Jerome Bettis had some for example.

But of course I know the Chargers are capable of so much more.

Chargers had a sub par game offensively, defensively they were superb. I'm not worried about that offense, we aren't going to be playing a Bear caliber offense every week.

I am afraid of next week in New England. I'm smelling a loss.

QUOTE (Jumpman)

Is it me or can Kitna, Williams and Johnson be a poorman's Manning, Harrison and Wayne? The Lions are looking impressive this first game, Raiders defense, especially the secondary last year was great.

Well, I dont think the Fords are poor men [IMG] Also I dont think Williams or Johnson will be poor when they want a contract extenion. Great game started good, gave up the lead in the 4th becouse our secondary sucks monkey balls. But we came back and won. the "same old Liedowns" wouldof given up the lead in the fourth and packed it in. Kept seeing stupid penaltys on the O-Line. I think I saw 3 false starts on one guy. Need to stop that.

I don't know about NE. I think that SD will be able to put much more pressure on Brady, so they've got a shot. I saw most of that Jet game, Brady has a great O-Line, so the Jets not getting any pressure on him hurt them.

With Seymour gone, I'm also sure LT will have a bounce back week.

Our main, and maybe only, weakness on defense is defending the long pass. Between 15-20 yards, receivers just seem to get free and open. It hurt us a lot last year and the Bears convereted on a couple of them, as well.

Pass rush improves the play of CBs to a large extent. The Chargers will only be exposed on defense against a team with either a great O-Line, or a Qb with a great release... (wink)

Merriman and his friends have the firepower to mess around with Brady.

That SD offense seems a bit inconsistent after LT and Gates. I could see why you think NE will win, but would that be an upset? I don't think so.

The Chargers' only weakness is that they have to go through Indianapolis and New England just to GET TO the Superbowl. If they were in the NFC, they'd already be printing the NFC Championship hats.

    Word to that Pack Attack.

I don't think losing to the Patriots would be an upset, I don't know what to expect from our offense next week outside of LT, Gates, and Rivers. We saw how bad Vincent Jackson could be..and then it's dead after that. We don't have any receivers, I'm pissed that we didn't push for any this off-season. It was a glaring weakness last year and we drafted Buster Davis...but he simply isn't ready to step up.

The NFC pisses me off, I'm sure the Bengals could make a run over there. Various AFC teams could.

Oh I see, I misunderstood you then.
I still wouldn't lose complete faith in Jackson, but I see your point. There were so many WRs to go after, SD has poor depth (at the moment at least).

Note to Lane Kiffin. Hopefully you have learned that Josh McCown is not an NFL QB. I doubt that he'd be the starter at Delaware. You have a guy named Culpepper. He's an actual NFL QB. He will win games like that for you. Don't wait till we're 0-5 to figure this out.

Trade McCown to the first team that offers you a roll of tape for him.

The only reason Culpepper didn't start is because he doesn't know the offense, yet. I'm sure Culpepper will be there in no time.
