Hes been in shape all offseason and was "running drills that would simulate a legit NFL practice" even before he got traded. That coupled with him being a fucking monster and being on a 4-3 DL (especially on the R's with their archaic defensive scheme) allows him to have an impact early.
Yeah, I've seen enough of him in NE to know he doesn't fuck around. He's a great player and the Oakland Raiders are lucky to have him. However, if they don't sign him to a long-term contract, it was a really dumb trade.
For sure. He'll be under our control for a while though. Al Davis gladly ponies up the dough for players he wants around so I think that'll happen but worst case scenario we can franchise him.

The talk around here is that they promised him they wouldn't franchise him in order to get him to finally show up.
When he reported he said that the Raiders didn't offer him a new contract and did not give him a guarantee that they would not franchise him at the end of the season. Al Davis said he'd "do whats right" as far as paying him so long as he proves hes worth it. And history shows Al will pay him a shitload of money (I'm guessing Haynesworth type money, Al loves nothing more than doling out record setting contracts lol). Seymour is known to hold out though so I'm guessing Al gives him whatever he wants.

Huff has been looking encouraging thus far going back to the preseason. Still nowhere near the guy we thought we might have when we drafted him but hes making positive plays.
