yeah there was no reason for the first running play. call 3 passes. if the qb has an opening to get in the end zone, take it but don't call a running play until 4th down(if ever). i'm not sure why they were all making such a big deal about the final play though. it really wasn't a bad call at all. what they really should have done was spike it(since their other spike didn't count it was still 3rd down) and then call an actual play, but even in that formation i don't think anyone was expecting an inside run(and the defense was probably expecting a spike. a fake spike call there might have been good too.
