Yeah it's too bad he wasn't around today. Maybe he saw how shitty the Cowboys were going to play and ditched us for now.
Russell hits Walker for a nice gain to about their own 35. Russell with another deep pass to the NY 38! This game is so over now.
Brad Johnson was inept. So was the defense. Hard to pin the loss on something specific. Though... that's never stopped me from trying.
Looks like I missed some good games. I watched most of the Giants game then went out to play some soccer for most of the afternoon. Guess I'll just post some thoughts from the games I saw, as well as the highlights I just watched: The Giants game wasn't as close as it looked. They let the Niners hang around in the first half, but stuck it to them after that. The running game looked great with 113 yards between the three-headed monster. I noticed Moo criticizing Brandon Jacobs' yardage total, which doesn't make much sense considering how we distribute carries. Jacobs had a great game. Our defense had a great bounce back game after getting embarrassed by Cleveland. Eli limited his mistakes after 3 interceptions last Monday, although I would've liked to see him target Steve Smith more. Really, San Francisco's offense didn't even come close to scoring in the first half. If it weren't for a ridiculously athletic FG block by Manny Lawson (seriously, you guys have to see the replay of that), we would have won by almost 20 points. That play by Josh Morgan when he kicked it out of the endzone was actually pretty smart. The Giants would've scored a defensive TD if he hadn't done that. I know everybody's ganging up on Brad Johnson, but he is what he is. Everyone knows he's a game manager, at best. Having him start just exposed the Cowboys defense. Right now, that team's going to be in an offensive shootout with almost any team they face. Which means they'll probably lose any game they play without Romo. Andre Gurode might be one of the worst centers in the league. Further underscoring how arbitrary Pro Bowl selections are. Terrell Owens might be the vocal leader of that locker room, but he played like shit today. Cleveland's a better team than they showed in the first few weeks. I don't think they're as good as they looked against us, but they have the talent on offense. And it looks like they've finally hit their stride. They very easily could've come out of today having won two straight games against the NFC East. I've liked this Buffalo team since the beginning of the year. Young, well coached, and talented as hell. Its amazing what Marv Levy was able to accomplish in a few short years. He practically replenished that roster with young talent. I wasn't surprised that they beat San Diego, although I was impressed. Tampa Bay vs. Seattle was such a shitty choice for a Sunday Nighter. Usually NBC picks some great games. Today was just terrible.
In defense of NBC, Seattle was expected to be a good team this year. If you would've asked numerous amounts of people if they thought Seattle/Tampa Bay would be a good, close game...I think they would say yes. I wish NBC had that flex scheduling all year long, not just for the 2nd half. It would've really helped tonight.
If everyone's darlings (Dallas, San Diego, New England, Philadelphia, etc) got the NBC spot and played a similar type game, no one would be complaining.
LOL since when is SD the media's darling? All ESPN did last year was hate on them; and they still do. However, it's not that those are the teams we want to see...but a nationally televised game should be exciting and the option of flex scheduling should be there all year. Tampa is fun to watch...Seattle really isn't.
