I only know of one off season schmuck on this board, (and it sure as hell is NOT any regular poster with >2,000 posts).......during the season, we have two, the "self anointed Mgr. and Baseball expert," due to playing in rookie league slow pitch softball.

I'm with Brian Williams sitting here in China, waiting for that gopher hole to pop open, from halfway around the world....~ Big News too, with 2 Chinese Reporters covering the phenom for Mandarin Monkey TV....~

...I know, and I hated embarrassing the little guy any more than he's already embarrassed himself but, well, you know.

...that's OK, he'll be back on his knees in no time and jumping through hoops once more.

No silly, YOU were the one who first injected Ichiro's BA to try and prove he was an asset in RF.......so I proceeded to demonstrate how his BA , supplied by you wasn't so impressive....he was basically a harmless slap hitter who couldn't hit .285.

Don't play silly games with me...please.....the 2014 production from RF,SS,1b and DH was dreadful.....you can slice it any way you want to......I happen to believe there will be good improvement from most of those areas in 2015......we'll see how things work out.

...that's not what this is about though...no one said either of them had banner years.
...but yeah, I think I understand what you're saying...pretty much the whole team under-acheived offensively last year...and the pitching staff over-achieved in a way. Unless they add an arm before opening day or unless Tanaka, CC, Pineda, and Nova (when he returns) can all remain healthy AND perform as expected, the BP will be burnt out out by July because the starters were not able to go deep into games.

...uhhh, you "interjected" OPS after I pointed to BA...and I never said Ichiro's BA was "impressive") (you made that part up, no surprise)...I only disproved what you said by illustrating that he and Jeter alone were not the reasons why TEAM BA at their positions was was down last year...caught up yet?...can you/will you dispute this?

...Ichiro has always been a slap hitter and was only in RF because Beltran was out most of the time...I notice how you conveniently like to flip flop from one facet of the game to another to suit your agenda but I'll play your little "gymnastics" game ...why do you omit Ichiro's defense and base stealing/running?...hmmm?

...still waiting for you to explain why you're the only one who sees "90+ wins" out of this team this year and why everyone else on the planet is somehow wrong.

...also still waiting for you to explain why you think Headley will be such an offensive "upgrade" over last year. What metric will you use this time?...the length of his pecker?

Utilizing OPS only, now I'm sure we will hear how crucial WAR is as a essential, non-essential Stat....! LMAO....!

I doubted you were done. I've been around these boards for over a dozen years & you're right up there with the hand full of posters I've seen that love to argue just for the hell of it.

Stick with your batting averages.....any other stat is some kind of gymnastic cherry picking. YOU brought up Jeter's BA as some sort of defense for the lousy offensive production from SS, .....when I injected OPS (tell us this isn't a well respected stat, I dare you) you blamed Ryan for dragging the OPS down - so now I give you and the board some other Jeter numbers, he was 10th amount reg A.L. SS in OBP, 11th in SLG%, OPS 11th, and your famous BA- he was 9th.

Now, would you like to "cherry pick" some other offensive stats?
Maybe you can invent a couple. Lmao.

Then you gave us Ichiro's fancy .284 BA which happened to be 33 pts lower than his career BA.....so I "cherry picked" ◀ (I love that lame excuse) a couple of more offensive stats he provided for that "awesome" RF production the Yanks got in 2014.
He was 12th in the A.L. in OPS, 7th in OBP, 12th in SLG%, 12th in total bases....had 22 RBI and a grand total of ONE HR.

Now, would you like to add some more important numbers......maybe you can create some new break-throughs in batting stats.

Shame on you.....nothing left to say but childish insults.

...shame on me?....says the clown who refers to those who disagree with him as "shmuks schmucks"...again, hypocritical much?

...are you going to answer my questions or not?

Wait there's a couple of more "cherry picked" stats.
Amoung reg A.L SS, Jeter was 13th in extra basehits.
Amoung qualifying A.L. RF, Ichiro was 10th in extra base hits.

Feel like doing anymore statistical gymnastics?
Or have you come up yet with anything else but BATTING AVERAGES?

Now go call your puppets, you could use some help....lol

...pretty much what I thought...you can't/won't answer 2 simple questions.

"...still waiting for you to explain why you're the only one who sees "90+ wins" out of this team this year and why everyone else on the planet is somehow wrong.

...also still waiting for you to explain why you think Headley will be such an offensive "upgrade" over last year."

...and where are your "puppets"... oh, wait, you have none, which has already been well established...you're all alone.

...I've had quite enough of your garbage...maybe you'll enjoy talking/arguing with yourself.

"Excuse me....once again you're playing your little word games....I have said I think the Yanks will win APPROX 90 games- you said 90+wins."

"Stop putting words in my mouth.....and YES, sometimes people have THEIR reasons to waive "pom poms".

Do YOU always wave the white flag before the season has begun?

And I've said this a couple of times, yes, I do think the TOTAL package of offense AND defense from Headley will be an asset at 3b for the Yanks over the course of the whole 2015 season.
I'm sure you're aware this is contingent on him staying reasonably healthy.
If he gets his playing time, he'll do a good job at 3b for the Yanks.

Now go away, lol...I know its kinda difficult when you can't bamboozle me.
But I still love ya.....its only baseball!

By the way, you never did supply a similar quote from any of Hank's contemporaries regarding his scathing rant about "Redsox Nation" being a bunch of bullsh!t created by redsox fans over at ESPN. You do Not have a small mouth, you specialize in five minutes of irrelevant boring fog. But i must ask, what kind of footwear do YOU wear in YOUR mouth?

Was it your Mom or Teacher who used to leave the entire bar of lye soap in your mouth, for hopes, you'd either learn something, run away, or just never figure out, no one here is going to do your homework for you.

Your constant harassment, of questions you ask, demanding answers to, and along comes one to give you a over sized key to MLB History, but you can't figure out if that's a key or a shoe horn?

The sad thing, is only you have tons to learn, especially about MLB History, but are to damned lazy to even google, what is is, you demand out of others......do us all a favor, their having tryouts for high Diving on the Bridge Tonight.....your up...!

How the hell did you escape out of Bellevue? Ah the garbage dumpster trick, what did you do, curl up in a Turkey's ass to escape?

Fawn over yourself, no one else will.....YAWN......:bored::bored::blahblah::moresleep::sleeping::sleeping::sleeping:
