Kick Off: Timbers supporters give MLS night to remember
Just when you thought they couldn't top what they did last year, the Timbers Army outdid themselves in front of a national TV audience yesterday in their first league match of 2012.
Forget the final 3-1 win by the hometown side over the Philadelphia Union (watch the full match highlights here: http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2012/03/13/highlights-por-vs-phi). The real memories were made by the Timbers faithful.
If you don’t believe us, watch them singing the US national anthem:http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2012/03/12/timbers-army-sings-national-anthem . They floored the president of NBC Sports, Jon Miller: “I’ve been with NBC for 34 years, and I have never seen anything like this tonight. This has blown me away”.
The Tifo display was a big FAIL in my opinion. I couldn't tell what they were trying to do?
It certainly didn't come off perfect but I disagree that it was a failure.
So what was it then? I still don't know.
The North End was the Rising Sun. The Club Side said "Rose City" and the West Side said "1975" very hard to see with the Fireworks the FO lit off and smoked out. But I liked it. love Love LOVE this pic from the suites.
also RIP Sunshine Flag. I hope whatever replacement is brought about brings us as much joy.
Okay got it. Still not feelin it though...
wow I didn't even realize that it didn't go across. then again it never did where we were sitting SMH
