I'm so sick of these same recycled nonsensical arguments. I've gone through them all for the past few days, and they keep giving me a headache.
That's usually the most common argument against gay marriage, but I find it to be circular reasoning. You don't want to change traditional marriage because...it's not traditional marriage. Like, I'm still waiting for a reason why you know? As for the subtly thing, you can see a parallel with the 1960's Civil Rights movement. It takes A LOT to fight against bigotry that is so entrenched in our society. Plus, how would you feel if you were being unfairly persecuted. You'd be pretty pissed, right?
Right. So because 1/10 of the population is gay, the world will stop reproducing. Nevermind that we're already overpopulated...
Of course it is. So if you're religious, don't be gay. Why do you care about what the non-religious do? Why don't the religious also want bans against divorce? Pre-marital sex? Extra-marital sex? Etc, etc.
Well he's got a shitty bigoted religion then. "You two people can't get married even though you love each other, because of some imaginary shit that I believe in, and yes I know your marriage won't affect me anyways." like wtf is that?
I don't know the prop in full, but if its straightup gay marriage, then I i dont support the prop. I don't mind gay marriage, it doesnt affect me in any way, and we should let gays express themselves and live like anyone else. However, I don't want it to be something taught to children, cause at a YOUNG age (Dunno what age they would be teaching this in) they will listen to anything and start exploring it. If it's to older students, like high school, it will allow for those students who are gay, to be more comfortable with coming out, which is good for them.
Maybe because he might think it is a sin, so he'll be against it? I dunno I'm just stating that a lot of people have voted against gay marriage because of their religious beliefs. Not saying if it is the right, or wrong thing to do. Honestly, I could care less. I'm not gay. The hell would I care what other people do, just as long as they aren't causing trouble or hurting anybody.
You think that gay people are gay because they were taught to be gay? what school did you go to! lol I mean, I wasn't taught to be straight (you know, besides "the talk") edit: although we're just talking about marriage, kids is a separate measure.
No I do not believe they are gay because it was taught or anything. I was only saying that if its taught to like young elementary school kids, who at that age will try anything or whatnot. Who knows? I never said that people are gay cause they are taught to. Don't mistake that.
I have argued against homosexuality based on pure science and human psychology, and I still don't think homosexuality is an innate characteristic. But when it really comes down to it, I don't care. I don't see how the acts of two consenting adults really effect society in a negative way.
