Of course I know, but they cannot have children of their own, because that's life, you cannot have man + man = child, it has to be man + woman. Those are the laws of this world. I didn't create them. I'm not saying what they should or should not do, I'm just saying don't change our laws (constitution etc) to let them marry because they don't need to marry, as nothing will come out of their marriage. (no reproduction) Did I say do not let gays or lesbians visit their loved ones in the hospital? Not sure where you're getting that.
Not being recognized as a married couple prevents them from those hospital visits. This law does exactly what you don't want to happen ... changing the constitution. This prop wants it to become a law to not allow gay marriage. And I have to ask again, how does two gay people getting married have any impact on your life? Is your life worse off because two gay people tied the knot?
The thing about the death bed in the hospital thing is what Shape was referring to as one of the benefits of marriage and family and whatnot. He'll know the specifics. Also the bolded statement bothers me. Marriage is marriage, period. If you don't let them marry, there are people who will never truly feel connected, because they can't claim to be married or as husband and wife (or whatever its called under these circumstances). It's stupid to say they shouldn't be allowed to get married because they don't need to because nothing will come of it. Marriage is another step in a relationship, and if they love each other, they want to make those steps. There are some couples, of man and woman, were they don't have a baby, should they have gotten married? Come on, seriously. People get married to further their relationships, and I don't see why gays and lesbians can't do the same.
And on the flipside, people who aren't married have children as well. Should we pass a law against them?
Good point...I just don't really understand those who are against Gays/Lesbians and how adamant they are (I mean the non-religious haters). They act like Gays/Lesbians fuck in their backyards in front of their families during dinner. What they do is strictly between the two involved, I don't see why people take it so personally.
