You've got to wonder if there were any weapons at the compound. Perhaps this was a sort of "retirement home" for Bin Laden and if he were essentially "out" of Al Queda.
I honestly don't think releasing the photo will accomplish anything. It will just be adding another level of nerding from the conspiracy theorists.
Exactly. When you don't believe anything anyone says, there's no end to the number of "reasonable questions" you can ask. One wonders why conspiracy theorists don't try jumping off tall buildings. After all, just because people say it would be bad doesn't mean it really is. Maybe it is some fantastic feeling that they don't want you to know about. barfo
^^ Good one! Local poll is much closer than I thought. http://www.katu.com/home/poll/12123...it&mr=1&oid=2&pollpg=y&pid=121230304&cid=3031 At the time I posted this: Should photos be released: Yes - 48% No - 45%
Come on barfo, there's no proof that it even happened. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. No pictures, no video, no witnesses, no body. Just the word of a politician. They only killed the biggest criminal since hitler and they offer no proof of it actually happening? Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
And the Navy SEALs and other military individuals who took part in each step of the process. Conspiracies are certainly possible, but they become exponentially more difficult the more people are involved.
how many people were really involved though? This seemed like a relatively closed loop and very small number of people "in the know". Direct order to the Navy Seals special team.
I'm sure at least the Navy high command would be aware. And, of course, the SEAL team. After that, I don't know how many people were involved in processing the body, but I'm sure the SEALs themselves didn't keep it solely in their possession before tipping it into the ocean. Is it your opinion that the SEAL team, at minimum, is playing along? What would be their motivation? It seems unlikely that they care about Obama's poll numbers.
They follow orders or people die. Do you think any one of them would betray a direct order from their commander in chief?
Well, there is the proof that Osama hasn't released another tape since the assassination saying, "WTF? Yo, I'm still here biatches!" You must concede, at the very least, that he's been permanently incapacitated, and that the President is absolutely certain of that. Enough so that he'd stake his chances on being re-elected on that knowledge. If it turned out Osama were still alive and hanging out in Afghanistan somewhere, Obama would be a one-term president.
There's no proof that jumping off a building will hurt you in any way. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. There's no pictures, video, witnesses, no body. Anyone who claims otherwise has been duped by the conspiracy and their faked pictures and videos. barfo
I don't want to see the photo for confirmation, I want to see the photo because I helped pay for the mission to kill the motherfucker and I want to see it. The government works for us; frankly it's not their right to keep something from us that's already been reported. There's little security risk in showing it other than enraging people who are just looking to be enraged. If it's not this, it will be something else.
Yeah, I wasn't really addressing you. I definitely understand your point, and I think it's completely rational. Personally, I do think there is something to the idea of "not antagonizing crazy people." Yeah, you may be right that they would probably do crazy things anyway, but you don't really know that. Some nutjob with a heart condition might be thinking about blowing himself up at an embassy tomorrow, but doesn't because he wasn't antagonized, and he dies of a heart attack a week later. I have crazy people in my own family. They do crazy shit, and I can usually see it coming. When they do that crazy stuff, it pisses me off, and I know I'm entirely in the right for being mad. But it's also taught me the value of not antagonizing them more than I have to.
